****ing *******S made it to perform on windows 7 only! BUT yet it was developed on XP OS friendly environment and it RUNS on xp environment, but I gotta figure out how to do it. On top of that, all of the douch nozzles in the xcom forums yell at you to get windows 7 and what not and there is no excuse to not have it yadda yadda yadda... They can go **** themselves because I will NOT move to windows 7 for ONE ****ing game. I do NOT care to install skyrim, borderlands, hamachi, space rangers, all of my STEAM and redownload and reinstallation of all of those games JUST to play one goddamn game. I wish I had looked closer before I bought the damn thing. All I saw was PC and I grabbed it... When I get around to finding the crack for it to play on XP i will edit the exe file and mess with it. Sucks how it installed though with no problems...

yea i made the same mistake. i ended up going to W7 solely cuz it fixed a lot of issues i was having with improper DX installs on newer games and it was about time to move on since MS were not going to fix DX on XP anymore. overall i still like how everything in XP worked and i have to do so much debugging on 7 but i will say, XCOM is definitely one of the best games i've played all year.

That is good to hear. Perhaps I can say the same in another year or two... Until then I have a pretty box on my shelf.

XP is how old? MS said a long time ago they weren't going to continue updating DX in XP. Component manufacturers are ceasing driver support for XP as well, so there's no reason game companies would keep supporting it unless you're talking about something running on a 6-7 year old engine(like the CoD series).
