    Nexus 7 worth it?

Opinions if you have a Nexus 7 already? I am trying to justify the purchase of the 16GB model of the N7.

I've had mine for over a week and love it. I came form a 10" Galaxy tab and couldn't be happier with the 7" screen.

It's a fine tablet at an awesome price. Best part is as a Nexus device you'll keep getting updates to Android from Google directly as they release. No waiting around for X manufacturer to "approve" and package an update.

I woulda already bought one if they had supported SD cards.

Its just stupid not to add that feature. Even if you have to charge an extra $25 or something.

In would have loved a microsd slot, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I can always mount a USB flash drive with an OTG cable to carry extra media.

I got mine yesterday, and so far it's pretty cool. If you use Google services, like Gmail, Picasa, etc. it integrates seamlessly. One thing I didn't anticipate was the integration with Google Play (their android app store) - I have a Samsung Galaxy IIS and a dozen or so apps - the Nexus 7 tapped into my account (with permission) and automatically downloaded and updated all the same apps as on my phone. Pretty cool.
Only complaints are no SD slot which would be handy and I've had problems transferring 'non DRM's' e-books, that is, free public domain stuff that I didn't get through say Barnes & Nobles or the Google Play store. The N7 doesn't recognize them... still working on that.

Other than that, for the price especially, it's darn cool.

Yes I'd say it's worth it. I rooted my Nexus 7 and have a otg cable and a 64gig thumb drive hooked to it. Can load movies, roms, music and a lot of content straight off the thumb drive. Along with the case I have when using it as a stand you can't really tell the thumb drive is there. With all the apps I have got on my Nexus 7 now my laptop gets a good break from heavy use. I used to have an Ipad but the Nexus 7 has been a much better experience cause of the open variety of apps and the platform. I'd say for $199 entry price it can't be beat.

they can't keep the 16GB ones on the shelf. I myself was a little disappointed with lack of memory card support, but seeing as how google is pushing for cloud services it makes sense. I already use google music(which will let you upload up to 20k songs), but don't have a device that supports their video service yet......

                      Really want one of these!

Mine probably won't be here for a few more weeks, I didn't get on the bandwagon early enough.

Damn... I've been holding off on the N7 XDA forums for fear that i might read something like that...

                          I'm now $200 poorer.

There's really no need for more than 8gb when USB OTG works. Nandroid backups and ROM files on my GS3 are the only files really taking up space.

One drive for Android development and another for media. I also wouldnt care for taking pictures with anything bigger than a phone... heavy, awkward, and unstable.

You need to root the device and install chainfire's stickmount app for this to work.

But once it works it's all worth it.

OTG cables are cheap. I also just found a 128gig thumb drive for $79.

I have not been able to stop using my Nexus 7 since I got it. Also was able to sync a PS3 controller to it via blutooth for playing games and emulators like the N64.

Also recommend getting the Veetle app for watching movies and TV shows people stream on the web.

                            Mine is a 16gb version Nexus 7.

must resist temptation to order........must resist. dammit, this is hard. I want one, but don't really need to be spending money on it right now.
