Not worth it to me. My GS2 is excellent. I guess shiny new things are getting old to me.
I asked myself: What would it do better than my current phone?
      Answer: Nothing.

Android Central is reporting that Verizon is already shipping the preorders for the S3. If so that means that some lucky early birds may have them 4-5 days or before they show up in Verizon stores on the 10th.
Looks like some bank accounts are a few hundred bucks lighter tonight, as preorders of the Verizon Galaxy S III have begun shipping. We're seeing arrival dates as early as Thursday, which should be a perfect way to cap off the holiday here in the States.

That really isn't an issue. Realistically how often are you away from a charger?

I got my S3 from work. I wasn't in a rush so I got mine after the sales reps and whoever else. Its AT&T, so of course everything about the order was a nightmare and they shipped the wrong phones which we had to send back but keep the SIMs which of course didn't fit in the new phones... I **HATE** AT&T. At least on a corporate level, they SUCK harder than any other company I've dealt with, well, except for maybe Telepacific. I seriously think telco companies should hire retarded monkeys instead of whatever creatures they have working there now, it would be a major improvement. And teach them English.

Anyway, the S3 isn't a significant improvement over my Sprint S2. Little bit bigger screen. Doesn't seem any faster. Same mediocre reception. I only got it because its my bat phone for work.

BIG BIG BIG problem with my ATT S3...

my wifi DOWNLOAD speed is crappy. like ~1Mpbs...

                this is wifi N.

i took my previous android phone, a dell streak running wifi G and placed it side by side. both running SPEEDTEST app.

the streak was averaging 8-10Mpbs which is normal. the S3... <1Mpbs.

i tried all the tricks, like the *#0011# service menu trick to turn off the wifi power save thingee...

                nothing.

did a full factory reset to see if i downloaded something.

                nope... same thing...

frustrated. this might go back to ATT...

No issues whatsoever with mine. Faster than i could have imagined and after rooting it and throwing Blazer ROM on it, i dont ever have to worry about battery life. 58% remaining after 12 hours.

Coming from an Epic 4g on Sprint.

Ok after driving to Texas and back with the S3 I was ready to chuck it out the window. There is some weird lag and the screen doesn't always click where I touched it. I needed to use it when my Sprint S2 didn't have any signal. AT&T has way more coverage from OC to Georgetown but the S3 is just annoying. I think my smaller hands on that bigger screen were part of the problem too because when I try to double thumb it my palm would barely touch the back button and close the keyboard.... Also, for some reason sometimes when you hit the . or space key it interprets it as <enter> meh... glad its a work phone and I didn't pay for it.

I tried out one in the verizon store and was impressed with the size and weight still not blown away to buy it tomorrow.

Might just wait a bit if it has bugs down the line. The one I toyed with was slow as hell on 4G my old 3G was loading web pages faster and at first I thought the back light was broken, dam power saving setting made it impossible to see anything being so dark other than the home screens.

My biggest gripe is the Amoled LCD screens Samsung uses I hate how they add a blue-ish tint to web pages etc when the back ground on my LED PC monitor and old Droid X it's white as it should be. Yeah the colors seem to be bursting out of the screen but I rather have true colors and better resolution.

Got mine last week. Came from a iPhone 4. This phone is great but it seems s-voice doesn't like working in my car. It sent an interesting text to my room mate about his mom... oops. I also have to get a new OBD 2 reader since it doesn't work with this phone.

I've played with mine for just about 3 weeks...I'll be keeping it.

                                +'s:
                                best speeds Mbps

bluetooth keyboard & mouse work well as does the touch keyboard
2g ram- I clear the sys ram every day or two & have only rebooted 3x (2x for installs)
720p screen very nice (plannig on getting hdmi out soon)
camera/video works well & is easy on the battery life...which is very good for the size
video playback good (thumbnail mode is good)
16g onboard have 10.5 of 12 left so far. upped the msd card to 32 c10 (8 filled up quickly with video shots
usb drives works well with dongle
                                reads truecrypt containers well
finally put a few games in last night..WOW!

                                ='s:
Flash 11- not sure if this is good chrome does better
s voice command work more than not
wifi copy to my lan... meh could be my app 3g's of video/pics took a while

                                -'s:
I appear to have had the contacts db coruption issue which causes it to frequently crash and restart the module. I've tinkered with it and it appears to have stabilized.

two telephone apps failed too work properly (simple recorder and voip integration (could be the db isse form the later))
