    IE question for the experts.

    Problem- on Calguns when I use the back arrow button to page backwards it clicks then nothing happens. It will only work if I tap it a couple of times. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to click on the Calguns.net link to get to the home page and start over.

    Now when I hit the drop down button there next to the forward and back arrows there are several of these addresses.

    http:/static.ak.facebook.com/connect
    https:/s-static.ak.facebook.com/connect-x

    Its like every time I hit the back button another one shows into the history.

    Now the page I am on never changes just flickers like it gets refreshed. When I click on an actual link they all delete from the history and we are back to normal.

    Its only on CalGuns and only when I hit the back button key. It started happening about a week ago. Dont remember downloading anything. Ran lots of ad-ware and spyware software and nothing detected.

    I am running Norton 360 updated with a firewall.

    No issues on any other sites.

    TIA.

    Check your browser settings, reset them to default if you need to. Or even better, switch to FireFox or Chrome. IE has always been a security risk.

        IE-9

        Why would the issue only exist when I am on CalGuns though.

        If it was my browser that had security flaws, it's up to date. Why dosen't the issue happen at any other site?

        Could it be an active x contol or java script issue? I have update java and erased all the caches and temp files on java.

        Also why is facebook in the address I posted earlier?

        I'll wait to reset everything to default until I hear from a few more people.

        I can't find anything online about this issue.

        Thanks for the info so far.

          Ehh, you may be "trapped" on the page, it would take awhile to explain why, but some pages take a request to tab "back" out of them as meaning "refresh the page". Its nothing to worry about, just get out of it by typing something different in the address bar.

            Goto tools, internet options, security, restricted sites. add the facebook sites to the restricted list.

            I had to put doubleclick.net there as well for other web sites.

              I have that issue too at times (IE9). There is a thread from a few days ago with others having that problem. (I looked but couldn't find it). As far as using FireFox, I can't keep the font size readable, without the "control +", regardless of version.

              As far as adding the "facebook sites" to the restricted area, after a time there are a great many listed---and I don't even have a Facebook account.

              Respectfully

                If you look at the source on this page (View, source), then search for facebook, it's buried.... Example

                <!-- Facebook Javascript for Like Button and other stuff -->

                <div id="fb-root"></div>
                <script>
                window.fbAsyncInit = function() {
                FB.init({appId: 'your app id', status: true, cookie: true,
                xfbml: true});
                };
                (function() {
                var e = document.createElement('script'); e.async = true;
                e.src = document.location.protocol +
                '//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js';
                document.getElementById('fb-root').appendChild(e);
                }());
                </script>

                  As the OP states, it seems to be only with Calguns, at least for me.

                    That source was from Calguns......

                    Some other forums have had a similar issue, and had to have the forum creators fix it.

                    FB is really good at getting their code/websites embedded on other peoples pages.

                      Similar for google analytics

                      script type="text/javascript">
                      var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
                      document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
                      </script>
                      <script type="text/javascript">
                      try {
                      var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-9714454-2");
                      pageTracker._trackPageview();
                      } catch(err) {}</script>

                        So its a source code issue. I knew the Calguns Techies could answer my question.

                        Thanks for all the info I'll pop those addresses into the restricted sites ASAP.

                        I'll post back if that dosen't work.

                        Didnt see the other thread on it. Thanks

                        Also does Kestral know that Facebook has their code embeded in his pages?

                        Thanks again orchard.

                              the page is flickering? like, a LOT?

                              Close out of IE completely and reopen it perhaps?

                              Go to task manager and see how much mem IExplorer.exe is using. If the number just keeps growing then you could be experiencing a mem leak and soon you will come to a crawl...

                              Most likely I would look at what Demonicspire said too.
