Reminds me of the IT Achievements I saw earlier in the week.

I've done most of those.

Playing devils advocate... how hard can it be when you have kids outta high school working the Apple bar and Indian call center agents not even making $10 an hour being asked to fix computer problems?

Those kids fix simple problems. Even the "Geek Squad" does very little actual work. They have consultants who remotely log into the systems to do the real work. Those call center agents in India simply read a script to you over the phone and read you instructions based on your answers.

I actually do lie now.

When folk who know I work in IT ask me to look at their systems, I just say that I don't work in that area of IT. If they question what I do, I simply explain the depths of vSphere, Oracle or internal Linux repo management.

Their blank stare usually results in me not having to screw around with their PoS system for three hours while they complain about popups and toolbars.

I usually tell them that I manage mail servers and not desktops.
