Just do a factory restore on the phone which is in the settings app.

Unless you expect some covert secret government agency or spy group to hack your phone after you stop using it, anyone else with it after you would just have a factory settings iPhone that they'd be dumping all their info onto.

There's literally nothing to access via the phone or itunes via normal means if the phone has been restored to factory settings.

          On a serious note...

Even if you wipe the memory on the phone all the information is still mirrored in Apple's/Your Carrier's server farm for OTA backups. If I bought your phone, I'd just backup from the online image and have all your information anyways.

            ?

The carriers have nothing to do with backpacks or iOS firmware, and all the backups are stored locally. Some data is in the cloud, but you would need to authenticate with their login to access it.

I never created a cloud account, and you would also need a password and username?

I doubt anyone would want my ****ty contacts and songs that bad lol

its still a little strange to me that Siri needs to connect to the network for everything, even something locally like setting a reminder.

                  Yup...

There's a lot more in the iOS system and network architecture than meets the eye.

I've been around the iOS hacking community long enough to tell you that there is no " complete backup" data being stored at Apple. When you jailbreak a phone you can watch the outgoing network traffic. You can opt in to send crash reports, but this does not contain things like contact information usually the info on which app crashes and the code it was trying to run. As noted above, iCloud (previously MobileMe) can store your contacts if you sign up, otherwise they are stored locally.

If you are talking text messages, your carrier stores that sort of thing, but that has nothing to do with Apple. Without a court order, no one will help you there.

Hold it kind of lengthwise and pull up and through the crack. If you tilt the bottom a little you can kind of scrape with it. You might have to do one cheek at a time in kind of a V type pattern. Careful for getting any hairs tangled on it.

I might not be able to say anything outright, but let's just say this MIGHT be how Apple Care wipes all personal info off of your phone before they start doing warranty work

Then just connect to iTunes to restore the default settings
