I want a gaming console and I don't want a xbox. I don't want to buy it and have Sony announce a PS4 release. So do you guys think a PS3 is worth buying right now.

There is no telling when the PS4 will be released but a year sounds about right to me just based on rumors that the XBox 720 is getting close. Developers of the Uncharted franchise, one of the most successful to launch on the Playstation 3, made an announcement today in which they state "The Playstation 3 could not sustain another installment of Uncharted".
