should I buy a PS3 on black friday?

I want a gaming console and I don't want a xbox. I don't want to buy it and have Sony announce a PS4 release. So do you guys think a PS3 is worth buying right now.

Ps4 is due in 1 year

      Buy it.

hasn't been an announcement of even a PS4, so i doubt 1 year is the timeframe.

i predict 2-3 years before ps4 will be released.

There is no telling when the PS4 will be released but a year sounds about right to me just based on rumors that the XBox 720 is getting close. One nice thing is the PS3 is still one of the best Blu-Ray players and one of the 2 or 3 best Netflix streaming players.

                              Update - October 2011
Developers of the Uncharted franchise, one of the most successful to launch on the Playstation 3, made an announcement today in which they state "The Playstation 3 could not sustain another installment of Uncharted". The announcement went into details about plans the developers had to improve the franchise but the current technological capabilities of the Playstation 3 would not be able to support such plans.
                              Just sayin.
