Hello fellow gamers. I was thinking of getting BF3 or MW3 for 360 and want your opinions on the two. I was leaning in the direction of BF3 but need some comparison. Thanks in advance. Tim

I own both and never have played either series before now. I'd pick BF3, its a bit more realistic and the guns are more distinctive feeling. MW3 has a somewhat "cooler" scenes in some spots but if I had to pick one it'd be BF3.Comment

It depends on what type of game play you like, because they are both suited for different types of players.
Multiplayer...
BF3 = large maps geared towards teamwork based focus for objectives.
COD = short maps geared towards fast run & gun style for kills.
Single player campaign mode...
BF3 = feels like a direct to dvd movie of a decent espionage/war book.
MW3 = feels like an over the top Micheal Bay directed & Jerry Bruckheimer produced big budget action film.sigpic

The campaign in Battlefield 3 amounts to little more than firing wildly at indistinguishable shapes in the darkness, with the only indicator that you actually hit someone being the sound of slightly less gunfire... meanwhile every single car headlight in Tehran shines in your face at the same time. Oh, and there are rogue nukes... of course.
I haven't played it, but given the track it's been following, I'm assuming the campaign in MW3 lasts 42.6 seconds, rolls credits, and then locks your console so you can never exit multiplayer.Last edited by Cpl. Haas; 11-13-2011, 12:42 PM.

If you have patience but BF3, if you don't get MW3.
The maps for BF3 are more suited for PC since a map can host 2x the players. On console it seems like action is lacking at times and people tend to just use vehicles most of the time.
For MW3 there is a lot more action but you have to get used to the run and gun - charge'em kids. If you like that style then it's basically a re-hash of MW2.Comment

Don't forget, your enemies in BF3 campaign mode are all the world's greatest marksmen. Run at a sprint and get tagged in the head, pop head out for a second to take a look see and get tagged in the head from the guy that's 100 yards away and not even pointing his gun at you. Duck behind solid cover and get shot again. The online play is pretty fun though. The campaign in Battlefield 3 amounts to little more than firing wildly at indistinguishable shapes in the darkness, with the only indicator that you actually hit someone being the sound of slightly less gunfire... meanwhile every single car headlight in Tehran shines in your face at the same time. Initially I didn't like MW3, but it's starting to grow on me. The on-line game-play is pretty quick and you have to get used to moving fast otherwise you'll get run over. It definitely moves quicker than MW2. I do like the weapon and sight combinations available.Comment

BF3. The campaign is good so far, i thought it was going to be as bad as BC2 but its much better. And for online its not even a fair match. BF3 blows MW3 out the water in terms of online game play. If you want to pay 60 for a DLC, get MW3. Otherwise get BF3 you'll have more fun when you master the gameplay.sigpicComment

Thanks guys! I'll probably get BF3. It looks more realistic and the weapons look sweet.Comment
