Welcome to the world of Apple - DOH!

    Goodbye Apple
It would be impossible for Apple to go through every app and look for compatibility issues. It is, and always has been, incumbent on the developers to keep their apps updated for the OS upgrades, though even here there is a limit, One wouldn't expect a program written for Win 3.11 to work with Vista.

You bought an app from a company that didn't keep its product up to date.. It's not on Apple to make it right.

I predict you'll be getting butt hurt at Android real soon after you switch and there is an OS upgrade that you CHOOSE to install.

"They" don't have control over you downgrading your phone. Plug it into itunes, click the restore option and it is done. If you want a specific version of iOS running then download the needed file and when you click restore make sure you are holding the shift key. That will allow you to load your preferred version.

That's what Apple said but they prevent me from using it, why? Because they THINK it will not work so in essence what you are saying is false. They knew it was not up to their compatibility threshold so they prevent me from using it. Why not just tell me, hey it won't work do you still want to upgrade? Microsoft does...

Actually they do, they would not allow me to downgrade my phone when I put it into DFU mode. Been there, done that.

I am angry, and I will be shooting my .308 into many Apple products from now until the end of time, I will have my pound of flesh.

still waiting for a valid point to be made....

On a windows box when you upgrade there's a warning regarding possible software compatibility.

there is now. there hasn't been for most of Window's life

            There wasn't one with Apple.

            which is understandable

All they needed to do was tell me that NDrive was not compatible and would not be available.

so you expect apple to do your work for your for free? you expect apple to test every app on the store with a new IOS release? are you crazy?

I would have cancelled the update to IOS5.

this is why i never update IOS before having time to confirm what i need to work still works.

Better yet, I won't miss Apple... especially with a NF 20x scope and Savage .308. Sighted it in the other day at Rancho - 5 shots all touching, one ragged hole. That IPhone is screwed...

do you really think they care if you shoot your phone? or better yet, pay $ to buy more of their products just so you can shoot them?

typical Apple. they control every aspect of their product right down to getting a new battery for your phone or iPod.

There's your problem. Just jailbreak it, or sell it and use the funds for an Android device. I hear the Galaxy S II is great.

You can't go back unless you saved your iphone SHSH file and upgraded to 5 using custom firmware to preserve modem firmware from upgrade.
Apple stops signing previous version pretty fast after they release new iOS.
Jailbreak for A5 processors (Ipad2 (4.3.3 IOS the last good one) and Iphone 4s)) is not available, yet.
Tethered jailbreak is not what most user want, if you reboot idevice you have to tether is again to see anything but white apple logo..."semitether" application can temporary help while you get to a computer. too many details to write down. Just to give you an idea
