Pretty nice setup. I'm gearing up to upgrade my PC for BF3 right now. Hopefully my current graphics card (GTS 250) will be decent enough. I'll be running the same CPU as you with a GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 mobo, and 8GB of DDR3 1600 ram. I can't wait to run Red Orchestra 2 not on LOW :3
        derp.

Oh yeah, Don't have everything installed/setup yet, but huge difference.
I think that SSD was one of the biggest changes for day to day work. Programs just "pop" open.

What firmware came installed on the ssd? also did you set it to AHCI mode in the bios before you installed your os?

It might show the firmware on the box. 0002 or 0009. the latter will give you a nice boost in read speeds. You didnt f up, but having ahci enabled should net you some more performance. Im not sure all the benefits ahci offers, but Ive always read or been told to enable ahci before you install the os. I think it can be done after you install the os, but its a pain. Your ssd will run fine in IDE mode.

Good you got the i5 the hyperthreading of the i7 hurts FPS. I just upgraded as well, now its going to be NAS.

AHCI is enabled not sure about the firmware, it's not on the box. When I get some time i'll do the update. Look like the only way to find out the version.

Good system, but unless u play modern games, an aged computer will play aged games just fine.
