Does anyone know if there is a max range on the sniper rifles? I cant seem to get a kill or even a hit out past 800m. I have only been using the SV98 though, perhaps each rifle has different effective ranges...? Anyone know?

it use be to 1000m max for sniper rifles, but the tracer would disappear before that.

after the last patch they had extended the range, you can hit targets past 1000m (experienced ~1250m hit) and the tracer will stay lit until the bullet hits something.

Before the patch I was trying stuff out with the sniper rifles on xbox. Two of my friends were on the very top of the tower on Caspian Border while I was sort of by the spawn for the jet at the airport.

One of them had an M40 and the other was using the SV98. The M40 would disappear in front of me and the SV98 would do the same, but wouldn't get as close. I know that the shots were on because looking through the scope at them I could see it come straight for me. I ran a little closer and there was a point where I would get "suppressed".

One of my friends switched to the M98 and the bullet would make it all the way to the airport, so it had a farther max range.

I have no clue if this still happens after the patch

I have made successful hits on people at the airport from the top of the tower, I even got a kill on a guy on the runway, but haven't been able to get a marksman headshot, so I have no proof besides for friends that were there.
