One more thing, you'll probably have to change the input mode on your TV to PC, otherwise the picture may not fit the screen properly.

if you want an easier solution ( not everyone wants to lug around a laptop to and from the TV etc. ) try the 99 dollar apple tv. It allows you to stream from netflix and its easy to setup and should have all cables included.

Why spend that much when you can get a Roku for $59

          EDIT: Forgot the link.

Roku provides the simplest way to stream entertainment to your TV. On your terms. With thousands of available channels to choose from.

HDMI cables can be had for cheap at your local Big Lots if there is one around you. You may also have to change the sound output of your sound card to the HDMI digital choice under your playback devices - right click on speaker icon near date and time.

well damn, yeah I paid $30 for the cables sony ones. Guess I can use them, buy new ones from mono then take em back to walmart and get a refund. It works good, after I figured out how to adjust the resolution.

                    Solid advice.

FYI: Monoprice sells a lot of junk, but it is cheap! I'm no advocate of Monster Cable, but I work in the AV industry and can tell you that cheap *** HDMI cables cause way more problems than you might believe. All HDMI cables are NOT created equal.

Perhaps with a very long run but this simply is not an issue for normal length runs. With digital the connection either works or it doesn't and there is no gray area. Monoprice HDMI cables are just fine.

Shouldn't be an issue. Your video card settings are where you fix that, when you set the resolution. Just make sure that you're set for 720p or 1080p or whatever the appropriate resolution is for your TV. All three computers in my house that have HDMI output - two laptops and a desktop - recognize whether you have an HDTV or a monitor attached to them through the HDMI cable and show the appropriate available resolution options.

I can vouch for Roku as well, I finally gave it away to a buddy when I got a new Blue Ray player that had wireless network and could help me stream Netflix along with other stuff.

No, it has to be done on the TV (most models anyway). HDMI will detect and set your computer to the displays native resolution automatically when you connect it (i.e. 1080p). If you do not tell the TV that you are using a computer for the input you will often have a desktop that is larger than the screen in native resolution. The only solution is to tell the TV that you are inputting from a computer, I have run across this many times.

Either use the HDMI port or buy a DVD/blu ray player that has an ability to connect to netflix via ethernet cable like I did I got mine for under $200, but I think they go as low as $120? Check out local electronics store.
