mac book pros dont have user replaceable batteries anymore?Sure, if you do not mind not being able to replace your battery. Not to mention the insane price markup on their laptops. Lets also not forget that unless you buy one right when they refresh the line you'll likely be getting outdated hardware (they were still selling Core 2 Duo based MacBooks until the new ones came out).
lol!
but yeah the hardware stays the same, thats one of the reasons the apple os works as well as it does.

Why are you using an article from 2008, a time when most PCs were running XP (which is also more secure) to prove your point? Find something current. Here is an article from this year.
No different from 2009.On a most basic level the attack exploited Apple's weak memory protections in OS X Snow Leopard. Microsoft, more popular and more commonly attacked, includes two critical types of memory protection -- data execution prevention and robust address space layout optimization (ASLR) -- both of which attempt to prevent memory injection attacks. By contrast, Snow Leopard only supports ASLR and the implementation is badly botched according to hackers.
OS X security is a major fail. It is much simpler to attack, people just don't usually bother with it because, why, there just aren't that many targets. However this is changing since people are drinking the Apple kool-aid. Viruses can attack any platform, that does not make one less secure just because it is targeted more.Apple’s new Snow Leopard operating system, which landed in stores Friday, adds a few security enhancements to protect Mac users from malware. But like previous versions of the Mac OS, Snow Leopard lacks security features that are built in to Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, such as full Address Space Layout Randomization to thwart attacks from malicious code.Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

If it's plugged into the internet it's not 100% secure regardless of operating system.

I'll take Apples word for it.
They also use proprietary screws. The battery in your MacBook Pro is not user-replaceable. If you think your battery needs to be replaced, contact an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

unix and linux make up the majority of the server market for a few reasons. they were originally designed as networking based machines(windows was not). windows has since greatly improved their securities and networking functionality, while *nix has stayed relatively the same. features are added but many kernel improvements are to add newer hardware functionality. neither are full proof(unless you completely unplug the machine), but *nix is far more secure.
Mac was based off BSD code, but I am not sure what is at its core anymore. They make robust hardware with a decent software suite, but it is not perfect by any means of the word.

That "retard" comment says more about the poster than anything I might offer.
So, moving on to more constructive content, ALL computers need some sort of decent security. ESET, VirusBarrier and even Norton (which hopefully is not a repeat of its first OS X software failures) and more. There are even free versions of most. Whatever you use, do NOT believe that software alone will protect you from your own boneheaded surfing behavior. If you disregard all of the warnings that Apple has built into its own security, you can expect problems to happen. Beware of websites for children's games and porn for malware.

Knowing what to look for helps, too.Comment

They have new ones (pentalobular screws), you cannot even legally own the screwdrivers unless they license them to you. They first put them in the iPhone but their new systems use them too. There are drivers that you can remove them with, but they tend to strip the head. They're trying to do away with user upgrades, this way they can sell you RAM and hard drives at a 4x markup.

What are the licensing police going to come kick your door in at night because you ordered some pentalobular screw drivers from China? Or even made some yourself? They have new ones (pentalobular screws), you cannot even legally own the screwdrivers unless they license them to you. Hahaha.
I say you super glue something to the screw head, let it set and then back it out. Painstaking yes, but it should get the job done.
Otherwise make your own pentalobular drivers and go to town.
Or get from Ebay:

Those aren't the actual drivers, they will strip the head. If anyone was selling the real deal to the public Apples legal team would have a field day. What are the licensing police going to come kick your door in at night because you ordered some pentalobular screw drivers from China? Well back to the China thing then
Fortunately I don't own any Apple devices that use them, I can't afford a new laptop at the moment.-POLICESTATE,
