That doesn't sound like too bad of an idea, but I can't say I didn't enjoy how it "restarted" I mean like yeah it restarted as a new level over and over, but the whole point was to build up to your escape.I'm about midway through Chapter 7,and to be honest I was expecting Portal 2 to be a little bit different. sure, the environment is different than Portal 1, and there's more of a story to this one, but if you break it down, it's still just a puzzle game broken down into different levels. You enter an elevator, or walk through some force field each level, and it just starts all over.
I kind of wish that instead of different levels disguised as interactive environments, they would just give us a continuous, flowing map that requires the use of the portals and the given environment. Think HL2, except with obstacles that can't be bypassed except with the use of the portal gun and some ingenuity.Comment

Of course, I enjoyed it a lot too, but I Was just expecting and hoping for something a bit different. It still had a "stagey" feel to it, whereas games like HL2 have a progressive feel to it. If portal could somehow be made to feel progressive, that would be awesome.
By the way, I've beaten the game 3 times now. I think I've memorized all the puzzles and am ready for a speed run, lol.Comment

I'm not playing any games till I get my comp fixed =(. I will probably get it and play it over the summer just to keep me occupied until BF3 comes out.

It won't keep you occupied for the duration of summer at all. It's a really short game. Took me about 5 hours to beat first time through, and only 3 to beat the second time through.Comment

Well I can give you a copy of Portal 1. Preorders of Portal 2 got a free copy.
Its not really short. Took me 5 hours to complete single player and 5 more hours for the co-op. so that's 10 total. The thing that makes it seem too short, is that since it is a puzzle game, replay value isn't that great.Comment

Aah so you mean like having the complete game being when you are let outside of the chambers? Basically from there you would just utilize all of the elements and build up to reaching your escape? (the last level of every chamber)Of course, I enjoyed it a lot too, but I Was just expecting and hoping for something a bit different. It still had a "stagey" feel to it, whereas games like HL2 have a progressive feel to it. If portal could somehow be made to feel progressive, that would be awesome.

The only thing I was disappointed in was the developer commentary. It was so much more interesting on other valve games. It felt like on this one they just did it for the sake of doing it and keeping the tradition. Also Gaben is now g a b e n. That last part killed the whole thing
