    SSD Boot Times

So what are everyone's SSD boot times? I have mine down to 19 seconds. I'm using a Corsair Force Series F120 120GB.

You know what I found after having used SSD for 2 yrs? Boot time is irrelevant on Windows 7. 2 Seconds resume from S3 sleep is what it's all about.

Yes, but boot time is still good for bragging rights.

From sleep to ready to use internet champ goes to OS X Snow Leopard on MBP. Although SSD Win 7 machine is not far behind

I'll let to revisit this thread in 6 months to see if there's any degradation in SSD performance.

If your machine supports TRIM you should see very little if any degradation over time.

On Snow Leopard I'm somewhere between 15-20 seconds from completely off to usable desktop. 128gb SSD, Core i7 2.7GHz, 8GB RAM.

I love being the guy who puts in all the IT orders at the office. :P

I think I can get a faster time with a little tweaking... but 17 seconds will have to do for now.

Oh, and that 17 seconds is full boot, not to usuable desktop which seems to happen several seconds prior to the end of full boot up.

Mac lion will finally support trim natively which excited me for my Mac Pro towers with SSDs

It was 19 seconds after a clean install, but I am running a ram drive now so it is between 28 and 35 seconds while the cache is being loaded into memory.

I just installed Trim on my MBP 2.2ghz, thanks for the tip! With the SSD I go from off to usable in about 25 sec. Like buying a new computer.
