^^^^ this. Just make sure to use the yellow foam sleeves -- they're tight-fitting like earplugs.

I have a pair of E2C's that I've had since 2005 and I have used those suckers hard -- in the office, on airplanes (and I travel a lot), sometimes in the car, etc. Just be sure to order several packs of the yellow sleeves because they get kinda gross after about ~40 hours of use.

Audio Technica M50 is the best cans for around $100. Grado, Sennheiser, and Shure makes high quality stuff also, but most of their cans that are $150 or below are not as good as the M50's.

Sony makes some good headphones. I can't remember what the "acceptable" models were, but out of those two, I'd much rather go with AT. AT is well known for having a really wide soundstage, an aspect that makes music better for me, moreso than simply more bass or clearer treble.

I would have gone with the A700's but they're a little more expensive. Regardless, good choice!

                            I haven't ordered it yet

What's the difference between the 2?
I was looking around And saw that the m50 was great but people are saying that they could hear every little Nick of sound. What the heck does that mean?

Honestly, I'm just looking for a fun to listen to headphone that sounds amazing....

A700 has a larger driver diameter, your soundstage will be wider. It also has a much larger frequency range than the M50. Impedance is nearly twice that of the M50, which means it'll be harder to drive, but if you couple it with a headphone amp, it will sound AMAZING.

Here's what I made to couple with my A700 (CmoyBB):

This is more of a portable headphone amplifier that I used when I was on the go, so it won't sound as good as a desktop amplifier, especially a tube amplifier, but it drives the headphones much better than just having it plugged straight into my computer. I used to run a DAC from my computer, into my amp, and into my headphones. It was a really silly, complicated setup for my headphones, but it made them sound great.

Testing the DAC + Amp with my MP3 player. Interconnects I made myself as well using CAT5 ethernet cord.

Whether or not you will notice any differences in the audio is up to your personal hearing qualities. One of the reasons why I double up on hearing protection and always cover my ears even if a noise isn't all that loud is because I'm able to hear minute differences in sound quality, and I like having the ability to hear. Shooting sports and hi-fi audio don't really go hand in hand..

I think you will be very happy. The difference between regular ear buds and a good set of headphones is like night and day. I have a set of M50s that I use with my iPod Nano and a small headphone amp. I couldn't believe how much better it sounded. If you go with an amp, look into getting a line out adapter for your source. It will bypass the overworked internal amp and give you even better sound.
