    HELP

    Have a lap top that the screen has nothing but colored lines going across it. Any known fixes? also, how can I get all the pics I saved on it? As you can tell, not a tech person This is an Apple that I have.

    does it have a monit out jack? plug into regular monitor?? did you get the laptop in trade?

          I plugged it in and now the sreen works on the lap top. What gives?

            maybe a bad connection in the hinge portion?

                i would never take responsibility to suggest switch and contact cleaner with the battery out, spraying liberally, let dry for 2 hrs, blow out w/ compressed air... NO RESPONSIBILTY ymmv

                      Sounds like either the video card or inverter is going out, most likely cheaper to just replace it.

                        Beetle Guy - If you move the monitor (open/close position) and the picture returns/fails then it could be the ribbon cable itself.

                        My suggestion is to get some quotes regarding worst case scenario and the cost of a replacement laptop.
