Yeah I did the reception test that you've seen on internet videos, yes the reception bars do decrease but I still was able to maintain a call. I think that the antenna starts at the bottom left of the phone and then wraps around the phone in a counter clockwise motion and that's why it has trouble with the bottom left being susceptible.

thats still some disappointing news, i guess ill wait for a revision before getting my hands on one. From the videos they claim that ur skin might be shorting the cell antenna and the wifi antenna. I would think that would actually boost the antenna instead.Yeah I did the reception test that you've seen on internet videos, yes the reception bars do decrease but I still was able to maintain a call. Got my iPhone at 1230 today, waited in line over night. Tally was about 19 hours. If things don't go your way, just keep complaining until your dreams come true.

I guess apparently at that corner is where the two antenna bands come together and by using your palm it grounds the reception.Don't let the name fool you...Comment

Just picked up my phone from the Fashion Valley store in San Diego. I waited 3 hours in the 'reserve line'.
That was fast compared to the other line, the non-preorder line was stopped at 10am. I had a friend get there at 4am, and he got his phone at 4PM since he did not pre-order.
Next time I am choosing the shipping option. You think you know, but you have no idea.

I was expecting FaceTime to have a clearer picture than it did. Kind of pixelated and low resolution, not even 30 fps. But decent and a long way from what cell phones could do, and will now be doing as a standard in the future.
4G is an ambiguous name, as it's interpreted as network speeds faster than 3G, even though that's not the case. Sprint does advertise WiMax in some areas, not sure if I notice it on my BB Tour. But download speeds are much faster than my wife's iPhone 3G on AT&T.
Surprisingly, the iPhone 4 is still slower in speed tests compared to my BB Tour. But because of the software and processer on the iPhone, it feels just as quick or faster downloading pages on AT&T's 3G network than my BB does on Sprint's 1XEV speeds. However, when tethering to a laptop, the BB on Sprint is noticably faster.Comment

For better or worse, I got my iPhone 4 today. 6 hours in the reserve line at the Apple Store in Victoria Gardens. The fact that other stores across the country report only 2-3 hour waits indicates that Victoria Gardens had the worst store staff on the planet as far as efficiency.
I haven't really played around with my phone much. Had to take care of work emails when I got home and then went to the gym.
I actually took a video of the 'reserve' line outside the store when we got to Victoria Gardens at 0600 localtime.
A bit shaky, but that's what you get with a hybrid dSLR (Canon 5D Mark II) and no support rig.

I think I'm going to avoid Victoria Gardens for any other Apple related launch event. Inefficient and way too many bros; obvious considering it's the IE. Too much TapouT, Fox, Hostility, Monster, and other bro-brand wear represented.
I did end up going to The Yard House after I left the store to get a few cold beers.

The iPhone 4 is definitely a jump from my 3G as far as speed and screen is concerned, from my initial assessment after restoring my apps and what not.Last edited by ocabj; 06-28-2010, 3:34 PM.
