Sprint owns the majority of Clearwire.

Android uses a Linux based kernal. Linux is extremely secure and no damage can occur unless a virus/trojan gains root access to the OS, which must be granted by the end user. Even then, the damage is sequestered.

The security is inherent in the OS itself...nothing like Windows.

Q1 2010 was yet another bad one for Sprint. They lost money and subscribers. The only silver lining is that didn't lose as much as the previous quarter.

UAC in Vista and 7 works the same way, Windows has come a long way security wise. In fact UAC works much like OS X's elevated privileges prompt.

What this report showed is that Verizon/Sprint could release phones in Q1 and outsell AT&T's iPhone that's been out for 2 quarters prior. Just wait until the quarter when the next-gen iPhone comes out.....

Last week I was in NYC watching SlingBox on my laptop that was Tethered from my Iphone while talking via Bluetooth Headset to my Girlfriend thru the same phone. I' was getting 2Mb+ 3G speeds. It was faster than the hotel wireless and didn't cost $10/day!

Lets see a droid (or any Verizon/Sprint phone for that matter) do that!

Read the fine print before you buy the EVO. There are many feature advertised which will NOT be available - just like iPhone. You can kiss off tethering from the get go.

One quarter is not indicative of the lifespan of the OS, development will have to be fairly well regulated and supported to maintain longevity. Another main reason apple so tightly controls it's source, and this is true of MAC as well, is they are less "easy" to attack. I'm no apple fan but I love my iPhone. What I really hate is AT&T right now.

Since we're moving to AT&T's advertisement feature list...

When I'm talking to my wife on the phone I have learned that I pay 100% attention to her. I don't watch TV at the same time. Maybe if you learned this, you'd be married, Joe. Also, not paying 100% attention can get you in trouble... "You agreed that I should buy that jewelry, remember when we were on the phone?"

Honestly, I was an AT&T user from way back through the Pacbell, AT&T, Cingular, and AT&T again rotation. Before the last rotation back to AT&T when they were Cingular and hadn't sold those towers to Tmobile, the coverage up here was good. After they turned on 3G and sold some towers the signals got poor. I moved to Verizon in November/December and haven't looked back. I don't miss Data+Voice at the same time. I didn't have it for years on AT&T with EDGE, but the service worked, kinda like Verizon does now.

On AT&T on my 70 mile commute I would drop calls in 7 known locations (that I reported to AT&T many times over 3 years), plus a couple more times "just because". Now, on Verizon I only sometimes drop in one location on Vasco road.

Everytime I talk to one of my friends on AT&T I now give them the crap I always used to get when our calls drop.
