    iPhone

Poor guy. The article said he wanted to meet Jobs. I'm sure he got his wish. This is not the way to get your name and face known to the C Suite.

      Sucks to be him!
I used to work for Jobs at NeXT Software in Redwood City. I've met the man and Jobs has this penetrating stare that can make you squirm (besides the dude is really tall, that or I'm short).

Mistakes happen, but to lose a prototype of the next generation iPhone? I guess Powell may be punished by being stuck doing QA on apps for the next couple of years. I bet his friends made a shirt for him sayng: "Yeah, I'm the Idiot that lost the Next Gen iPhone!"

      D'oh!

        I'd rather meet Steve Wozniak.

Another promising career ruined in an instant.

He won't get fired, but he won't get to work on the cool stuff any more. He'd have to personally take a bullet for Mr. Jobs or something to recover from that screw-up. Breaches of security are never a good thing.

                Don't worry about Flash.

As soon as everyone adopts HTML5, the iPhone won't be hindered by Flash anymore!!

Hopefully that happen in the next few years.

Why do you like HTML5 so much? From what I have read its slower than Flash.

All Android phones have flash support. And what do you mean you don't know what its programmed to do? Its like an iPhone only better since you're not restricted to approved apps and you can tether it to your laptop without hacking the thing.

The nice thing about it is that it runs an any HTML5 compliant browser, no plugin required.

It's open source unlike flash really so it will be made better, mostly though flash on a phone is laggy and tends to crash.

The new iphone is very good - according to someone I know who knows someone ect, sorry can't say but it's raising the bar up pretty high for everyone especially droids which are good but need some apple polish.

Expect it to work with flash, from what I understand with the flash bomb about to hit droids in the next month or so apple does'nt want to be out on there own despite recent comments.

As far as HTML 5 it has not been formalized and there talking until 2022 until it becomes a defacto standard.

One thing that's going to be interesting it Android 3, Google has made statements alluding to the fact Android 2.1 isnt the real deal merely a beta test and it the back it up with nexus 1 + hardware from now on it's going to be pretty amazing.

I run flash on my old Samsung Omnia and its runs fine with much less power than an iphone and i'm running multiple apps including a full OS shell. Everything points to apple make flash run poorly on their hardware because they wont open up hardware acceleration like the rest of the industry.

I personally don't care what is used but it looks more like Jobs is just trying to crap in Adobe's food rather than push a better product. Jobs has to be the most revengeful person I have ever seen. Reminds me of a b**chy teenage girl.

They took music files and told the world "we are going to make it more expensive, put it on proprietary hardware, and make it 100X more restrictive" and the whole damn world ate it up! WTF?!?! People slept in lines out in the rain for apples products and that just blows my mind. They have taken their brand and made it a fashion trend because any tech savvy person knows their products don't do anything different than what was already out there. Apple has done nothing new. They have taken others creations and polished it and slapped their name on it then screamed bloody murder when another company does the same. That just pisses me off as a tech. They took Linux and claimed it was their creation. All they did was build a GUI for it. Kids in dorm rooms do that all the time.
The Mac runs on BSD, not Linux. In today's world it really is closer to BSD than MACH. Many people can suck down a free OS. it take balls and guile to make apply the polish and call it your own.
