    Budget Laptop

The laptop I have right now is 5 years old and a little outdated. It still works fine most of the time but it is slow and has a 80 gb hard drive. Playing video games is not a high priority.

I mostly surf the internet and watch movies on it.

What would you guys recommend in the $300 - $400 price range?

3-400$ is a simple email getter, internet surfer type laptop.
If you want to do any gaming, its going to be at least 800$+
also what size screen do you want?

I just ordered a asus eee pc netbook it was 338$ shipped 10.1 inch screen, wifi bluetooth, they are great for surfing the net, email, simple type stuff. the advantage is that they are smaller, 7-10 inch screens, 2.5-4 lbs
last from 4-9 hours on a charge.

If you want to brave the black friday ads, walmart has a couple of machines below 300.00. http://walmart.richfx.com.edgesuite....%3D27%26y%3D11 Look on pages 2-3.

I, earlier this year, bought my wife a Dell 1010V for $299 and I think they are now on sale for $249. It is notebook size with a 10" LCD screen and works great for the internet and e-mail. Has a 150gb hard drive and I forget how much memory. Might look at Dell's website. I almost forgot that if you want a CD drive you will have to buy that separate as it does not come with one.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

I think I am going to go to Best Buy tomorrow to buy a laptop. There isn't a Fry's in the part of Georgia that I am in. There is only a few major stores that I know of. Best Buy, Sears, Radio Shack, Target, and maybe a couple other that might have them.

Is there any brand or any specific thing in a computer that I need to look for or stay away from.

I ended up getting a HP G60-535DX. It was $500 at Best Buy and it is pretty nice. I have only been on it a few minutes but I like it so far. Much faster and smoother than my old one.
