What do you need guns for if you are going to send your children, seven hours a day, 180 days a year to government schools? What do you need the guns for at that point?-- R. C. Sproul, Jr. (unconfirmed)

Yup, back when the internet was all text-based I too used Pine.

These days it's Outlook '07 at work and at home.

Firefox (mail is integrated into it).
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I actually like windows live mail, i like that i can sync my contacts by simply using my xbox live login on my two computers.

I installed thunderbird last night but i'm not feeling it. im going to play with it for several more days. I just don't see an improvement from live mail. may because i just installed it and haven't looked into it a lot but we'll see.

I use telnet to connect to my pop3/smtp servers for reading/sending messages...

                            telnet hostname 110 eh? lol.

mail -> mailx -> elm -> netscape messenger(imap)[sucked when browser froze] -> thunderbird(imap)[nice to be separate app].

Thunderbird with IMAP over 993 or tunneled (plus 389) with ssh/putty works great now on my laptop now where ever I am as long as I have internet, home, public wireless, cell/mobile broadband wireless. If only my dare worked port 993 correctly...(AND viewed attachments!)

I DO like qmail and postfix with maildirs, I definitely do not like the huge sendmail INBOX. Why? One reason - so I don't have to use tail

Wasn't pine depricated a while ago?

Once you go mutt, you'll wonder why you ever used pine (at least, I did...)
