    Preferred E-Mail Client/Program

    Hello All,

Since we're discussing the likes of emacs and vi - what about e-mail clients?

    What do you guys use/like?

I've used all of the above so to speak - but have recently switched over to Google Apps for Business and I must admit it is nice - and I have been using Thunderbird - which I think is quite nice too.

Used Outlook Express for years - which is why I call it 'Lookout!; and of course Microsoft Exchange - but I really like the Thunderbird client and google's GMail interface (web-based, of course).

    Regards,

for the gui clients, I prefer thunderbird.

Although I sorta dislike it, I do find myself using the gmail web
    interface quite a bit.

I love Outlook. For business-oriented email and basic scheduling, tasking and contact management, nothing is even in the same league.

Second on my list is the gmail gui/mail system.

If it was a program I used Eudora.

Now my work has web-based outlook express and I use it pretty much exclusively.

for the record, exchange aint an email client but rather the server...

at my work where a recent change to exchange made everyone go to outlook... i stuck on thunderbird.

              drives people nuts... lol...

For personal email I use Thunderbird, works pretty well and I can transfer my profile between clients (Mac, Linux, Windows).

The new Apple mail looks promising especially since it has built in Exchange 2K7 support.

For medium to large businesses Outlook 2K3/2K7 works when you're running an exchange 2K3/2K7 environment.

Outlook pretty much exclusively... Office 07. Home and work. Took awhile to get used to the tab menus and to figure out how to change from the awful blue default color scheme to silver (much nicer).

Not a huge fan of MS but my apps run on it and I've never been a Mac man, nothing against them though, just grew up on pc's.

Been tempted to give OpenOffice a run...

Apple Mail FTW. I really like the unified inbox. Makes life a lot easier when dealing with multiple email accounts. I haven't tried the built-in exchange support yet. I hope it works well, it's something users have been clamoring for for a while now. It's been a major hurdle in the way of business adoption of Apple products. Same thing with the piss-poor Blackberry support. I hear the new Blackberry for Mac app is pretty killer though.

Outlook 2007 here. I run Exchange 2010 at home and Exchange 2007 at work so Outlook just makes sense and works well.

                              mutt [text based mailer]
                              procmail [to filter emails]
fetchmail [to download emails into separate files ; imap structure is ugly]

i now also have procmail forwarding all emails addressed to me going to my nifty iPhone.
