win11 install - no more bypass internet login?

grrrr. i was able to do this last time but maybe it was win10 install and a pc reset. i read that one can bypass not connecting to internet while installing with win 11 pro but that didn't' work either. i forgot to check the web article date. so tried again with win 11 home going thru it all.

had to do some finagling creating a local account for kid after and then transforming the internet account to a local one later. but what a pita.

i didn't even have the wifi antenna connector and the wifi was still sensitive enough to sense the ssids. will save this for next time. kid already downloaded his 80gb free game (jeez 80gb? i shoould've gotten a 2tb drive). already spend all day building it yesterday with a lot of trial and errors with his case. i'll just leave alone for now.

      ty for the tip!

i should just search youtube first vs. the internet. if feels there's more info on youtube though i just prefer to quickly search thru stuff vs. fast forwarding trying to find the right info in a video.

There are different ways. I have done it three times installing Win11 VMs.

MS makes it difficult because it is all part of their business model now. They want to get your name, address and track everything you do on the computer. They say it is for your protection. LOL

Windows spies on your activity just like Android and iOS does now. It is sickening that MS charges people for Windows and then still acts like a creep. That is why I will never buy another MS product. While I am forced to use Windows for certain things, I will only use it for specific tasks in a VM. MS can get bent. I have been using a MS OS since DOS 5. They won't get another dime out of me.

SactoDoug, do you have another not listed above?

will probably be doing a fresh install on the current desktop one in a month or so. backing up all the file; taking screenshots of which programs i have, config, etc etc.

The first method worked for me all three times.

If you don't like having a Microsoft account on Windows 11, here's how to get around the problem.

Tip: During install if you choose English World for your region, it debloats the install. This is because it installs most of bloat based on your region and English World is not a specific region.

Windows has gone from bad to worse. I paid for an operating system, but got a bunch of additional bloat-ware I didn't ask for. Then, Windows asks for a MS login not only on installation, but every time it does a major update - it gets tiresome to be forced to work around. It really, really wants me to use Edge, but I don't. I won't even go into the hundreds of background processes and services running that does who-knows-what. I clean out the junk and then it reappears on the next update. Microsoft is trash.

I just reinstalled Win11 after a motherboard replacement. Now, Chrome is the browser I use and if I close everything and do a restart, the websites I had open in Chrome will automatically open in Edge on restart. Yes, annoying.

I also had to do a CMD command to give me the option of having no internet while installing Win11.

I've had W-11 for over a year now, still don't use or forced to use a Microsoft account.

When you get to the screen that tells you to login or create a sloth account, hit the back arrow, then there will be a text link that says 'skip'. Click it and you won't need to create an account.

Latest Win 10 update asks for MS log in too. Just noticed that on an older machine I have I don’t use much anymore.

Windows 10's most recent upgrade also requests an MS log-in. I've recently discovered that I utilize less of an older machine I own.
