I made a retro gaming system out of a RaspberryPi Zero2 and my own bluetooth gaming pad with joystick, buttons and a spinner. I play primarily 70s arcade games including Tempest, Joust, Galaga, Breakout in addition to some console games like Tetris, Super Mario Bros, and Sonic. I don't play a ton but still enjoy them.

You know I never got a NES. I had Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear, Super Nintendo, Game Boy Color, and Nintendo 64. Played the NES at friends house, but never personally owned the NES. I?m looking at a DSi XL right now. Prices are pretty cheap with them.

I am a pretty avid collector. If anyone has any old games or consoles (working or not) they want to sell I will buy them. Happy to cover shipping as well. I collect pretty much everything from the late 70s to mid 2010s. also some interest in atari and commodore type computers.

One day I'd like to have a sit-down Spy Hunter cabinet, but otherwise I've had my fill of retro games. I was big into Mame in the early 2000's but when you have free play, a lot of those old arcade games are dull and over quickly.

My favorite video game was Asteroids, until Tempest came out and made Asteroids suddenly seem dated. Then 1985 rolled around and video games just sort of lost their luster.
Asteroids and Tempest both used vector monitors that gave them a very crisp and fast appearance which was unusual for the time. Tempest also had a very cool metal control wheel with high quality bearings. With its color vector screen and the high end ergonomic controls, I feel Tempest marked the pinnacle of gaming.

Tempest is still one of my go to games. I put together a retro machine with RetroPie on a RaspberryPi Zero 2. Plays all sorts of arcade classics as well as Sega and Nintendo up to N64 games.

alas i remember what happened to my stuff. last console was S-NES. most time I played at friend's house on their playstation (i think it was a playstation?) who else was after S-NES and SEGA genesis before that.



if they sold a mortal kombat joystick controller for xbox, i'd probably play with my kid more. i can't do much moves / fatalities on hand controllers. i thought i bought one for the street fighter on snes back in the day,

can anyone show me how to load older Nintendo games into my laptop? and older 1st shooter game like Battlefield 1942, and Command and Conquer too?? I am looking for game pre "in game purchases".. I remember the good old days, just buy a CD and be done with it, not having to pay to upgrade anything.

You need to search out the ROMs and an emulator. You can get USB NES controllers (I recommend 8bit Do brand). Your best bet is to look on youtube for a guide and google for ROMs. Careful for viruses. ROMs aren't technically legal to have unless you own the cartridge, supposedly.

If you have an android phone you can do it all on that. That's what I use along with a 8bitdo controller. Currently have it set up for MAME and the arcade games I use to play when I was a kid. Plenty of resources on youtube on what to do and how.

That is what I miss, getting on my bike with a couple of dollars and heading to the local arcade and spending hours there.

I have more video games than probably all of you in this thread combined, lol. I'm somewhat of a hoarder of that stuff because my childhood revolved around video games, so it's all nostalgic for me. Most of what I have is digital (ROMs and ISOs) but I either have or can readily download literally everything. One of my favorite systems is my Steam Deck, because it is the absolute perfect portable emulation device, and can run everything from Atari and Intellivision all the way through PS3 games. It would take pages to list everything I have, so I won't bother. I'll just say it's a metric **** ton of games.

I too have been an avid collector, but I am actually in process of liquidating most of my collection, specifically the stuff which has been sitting in boxes or on a shelf. But, I don't think you'll want to pay my asking prices, lol. My stuff is selling for substantial amounts of money. I'm about to list an original Super Nintendo super set for sale, which I think is actually brand new in the box, and asking about $1,300, which I should be able to get. Also about to list an original Xbox console for sale, also brand new in the box. Already sold a couple of Wiis and a Sega Genesis for about $1,500 total.

Build one. You can buy a Brooks fighting board for $35, a Sanwa arcade joystick and buttons, and some wood project panels, all for less than $100 and build an arcade stick far superior than anything you can buy off the shelf.

Yes! That was me and my friends when we were kids through the late 80s. Then, when Street Fighter 2 came out, I got really good at it (with Blanka of all characters) to where 99% of other players could not beat me, and I could last for an hour or more on a single quarter knocking down challengers. I played a local tournament at the arcade I went to a lot and won 2nd place, lost to an Asian kid playing with Chun Li (figures).

There was always some little Asian kid that could barely reach the controllers or see the screen and would come up kick everyones *** in the whole place. We used to play for free at a bowling alley my friend worked at. He would open it and give us a bunch of credits to play.

Since making this thread I have picked up another DS Lite and 2 DSi?s one broken. I also picked up a New 3DS XL. For the record I now have 2 DS Lites, 2 DSi?s one broken and a New 3DS XL. Retro gaming is addicting.
