I'm really happy with the LG software interface to manage apps and internet access. Easy to use, the kids can navigate it, and so far it has never let me down. I would base my buying decision around the interface first, screen technology second.. just my opinion.

First let’s start with a different classes of TVs
1. Entry level is 4K—-best tv is TCL
2. Mid range is QLED-Best TV is Samsung six series and up
3. Top of the line is OLED— Best TV right now is LG C1
If you’re coming from a 10 year old TV the TCL TV will look perfectly fine for you I have three of these and it’s a great TV my son plays Xbox on it and it’s actually an excellent picture. Samsung there’s an awesome TV it’s the one in my front room and it’s a 75 inch thing weighs over 100 pounds great picture but the OLE D’s do better with motion black colors and it’s also brighter.
In my bedroom I have the sea one and from the ratings the top of the line and I play Xbox on it to its picture is will call it godlike but you are so pay for it too. When watching movies it has no problems with motion it actually does have one flaw the TVs refresh rate is so fast will actually show you flaws in the movies you watch from their CGI or their editing. I actually think it’s kind of cool
There’s other things like refresh rate and what hz’s the TV operates at if your average person that doesn’t mean anything.
60 Hz is what almost all cable boxes use. When you start getting a gaming do you want it to be 120 Hz to 240 Hz
Now as far as what apps the TVs come with if you want my opinion they’re all basically the same some just look different it’s all personal preference. Almost all my TVs I use strictly as monitors so I don’t really use all those built-in apps for the most part but again those are just personal preference
Your entry level TV for a 55 inch will cost you about $300
When I bought my C1 it was a 65 inch and I paid two grand for it from Costco and it also came with an extended for your warranty
That same TV is cheaper right now as they always go down in price
What the burning means is kind of like the old CRT monitors where if you left it on the exact same image for most of its life when you turned the monitor off you’d still see the image highlighted in a lighter gray. I’ve had it happen to a computer monitor before when I used to do gaming back in the early 2000s but from what I’ve read unless you leave the same exact picture on for hours on end for the TVs entire life it’s more of a myth
When I was doing the research on my TV I’ve had a lot of people talking about the burning but not a single person did it actually happened to them as I just hearsayLast edited by Jeffjohns; 06-14-2022, 12:23 PM.Comment
