IMO, OLED is a superior picture. LG C series or new Samsung OLED are dang nice. However, I think Samsung a bit overpriced and their panels are new to market. If price a concern, without a doubt consider TCL 6 series - fantastic display, built in Roku. Highly underrated but a stellar display. Note, even though Im a fan of OLED, I dont have one. Size was a big factor and when I last purchased, a "reasonably priced" OLED was maxed out at 77". Needed bigger. New model year displays are hitting market now (Samsung OLED) so last years model are going to be priced more aggressively.

I am also shopping for new tv - tagging.

I like the OLED, but play video games, so was concerned with burn-in. From what I read it is real and sounds as if it will happen overtime, period. Versus QLED which does not experience burn-in. Can someone expand on this?

When it comes to 4k, 8k pretty much the only thing being pumped out 1080p. I haven't bought anything for a couple years and burn in was a thing on the oled, and I went with the LED 4k type. I picked a little higher on the product line and still very satisfied with it.

This site was very helpful when I was looking.

Go to Target for fire sale, overstocked.

              EDIT: 75/80” for about $800.

Right now LG is the only OLED panel maker. Every other brand uses LG OLED panels. OLED tech is great for color and black depth but not so good in daylight environments. Traditional QLED panels are better for bright daylight environments but will suffer with blacks. Personally, I would wait on OLED as TCL is working on their own OLED tech for half the price as LG.

I have a Roku 55" OLED, it is pretty nice and not that expensive however if I were to do it again I would probably go Samsung.

My company uses a lot of 4K TVs. Generally 43” but yesterday we installed an 85” and a 60” for something. We use them for computer monitors in a fab facility (big TVs and 3D models have replaced paper blueprints). We’ve gone through a number of brands and I can tell you for reliability nothing touches the Samsungs.

The only one of my TVs I've ever had to replace the TCon board in is a Samsung.

Maybe you need to fill it with more grinder dust and smack it with steel fabbed parts from time to time.
