Interesting. I'll have to look closer. The Cat and Blackview phones also look interesting, but don't appear to be fully CDMA Verizon compatible. I like the dual sim concept, but usually just use a sat phone when out of the country since I tend to go to places with limited to no cellphone service.

I prefer Samsung. Solid, reliable devices that work for 3-4 years without complications. I tried to take Chinese brands - generally not in terms of functionality, image quality and shooting quality.

Think many Samsung are all built in Korea.

while I've never had or handled any of the CAT phones I did look into them and their hardware while solid was a bit dated and I'm not sure how often it is updated... I think their S61 is a couple of years old now and the S62 just came out - looking at the specs on it and it would be a hard pass for me.

I've got 2 of the Blackview phones and while the first one I had worked fairly well it wasn't without some serious annoyances as for the second one I was just faster with a sleeker form-factor while maintaining the same annoying quirks, that is until the speaker went out...

a similar one that is usually mentioned among those is the Ulefone Armor series... I've had one for at least the last 6 months but never really got around to using it

Wait a minute. How'd you manage to take a photo of your phone, without using your phone...?

I had a somin xp8. Do not recommend it. Very slow electronically, and the camera was utter garbage.

                  However it was indestructible.

What the hell are my options? I have a lot of apps that I really need and would rather not change from Verizon as my provider.

I’m currently using an iPhone 6 that is failing, but have a couple identical burner phones that I can use temporarily by transferring my SIM chip if there is anything worthwhile on the horizon.
Which apps are the ones that you really need? That'll help us to give you a recommendation.

Note that Samsung phones, recommended by some in this thread, use Android, which is Google.

Pretty sure the CAT and one linked in the second or third post also uses android.

Get a pixel 3 or 4, reflash (to remove all google stuff) and use GrapheneOS. There are places that will do that for you noagendaphone.com is one.
