Options are better if you have access to hard line phone at your location.

Download through sat com, upload via wire.

StarLink is in beta test right now, you can go to the web page and sign up for the beta, $99/mo plus $600 for the equipment. Search the web, some testers are getting 150 down, 20ms latency. Who know how long before it goes retail.

            Satellite internet.

            Starlink Beta program

When SpaceX opened the Starlink public beta last month, the company told users to expect "brief periods of no connectivity at all" over the first few months. It's one of the reasons that SpaceX calls this testing period the "Better Than Nothing" beta.

Early reports from Starlink beta testers confirm that users are suffering from this problem to some extent. But Starlink's overall performance has wowed beta testers, many of whom previously had no access to modern broadband speeds.

"Link stability is a little rough," Reddit user Exodatum wrote on the Starlink subreddit yesterday. "We're getting jumps bad enough to disconnect us from connection-sensitive servers every 5-10 minutes, but things like Netflix are working perfectly. We watched Airplane! as an inaugural stream and it was fabulous." (Buffering deployed by Netflix and other streaming services can keep videos running when there are brief Internet problems.)

Exodatum placed the Starlink satellite dish/user terminal on a picnic table outside the house, temporarily until it gets mounted on the roof. Bad weather may be having an effect on the service. "There is heavy snow in our area, and dense overcast for the most part with a few breaks today," Exodatum wrote, adding that upload speeds have varied from 10Mbps to 30Mbps and download speeds from 15Mbps to 120Mbps

Get the whole world on it, then tell me about those speeds.

Those are beta speeds. Elon plans to launch many more satellites and plans to have speeds even faster.

Like a said for your TV, use satellite. I use directv. but for Internet and i also watch YouTube videos. I use what is called a jet pack from Verizon it is a specific use for hotspot even works on the unlimited plan when they throttle down you can still watch videos. I also play video games on it while it is throttled down.
Starlink Beta right now is for the northern United States. So i am waiting for it to be available for all. it probably will be the solution to all our problems.

In a several months we will be doing a lot of work on ranch. New wells and a water treatment facility for existing dirty wells. Will have to have high speed multi terminal capability. wifi over 1800 plus acres. For now need to make quarters livable and have internet and tv. Jetting a couple wells that have power at them and adding solar to couple that do not. Everyone within miles of us trucks in potable water.

The only game in town for his application is Hughsnet and the old Wild Blue which is now Viasat, both geostationary high altitude with high latency. So as soon as I can chit can geostationary at the ranch and go to low orbit Starlink, I will let you know.

Are there any companies out there who broadcast signals for internet? My Mom lives out in the boonies here and it was either Hughes, cell service or the broadcasted signal. The latter gave the best results.

I wonder if these portable sat units like for rv or camping will work. For now do not need a lot of bandwidth. When work spools up then will have money for high end infrastructure.
