    Windows 10 question...

I replaced the original internal drive of my desktop PC with an SSD. For the past several months, I've been using the new SSD as the boot-up and the original drive strictly a back-up. On the original drive, there's a folder titled FILE HISTORY. As I understand, that folder contains files for Windows to use for a System Restore.

As I only use that drive for back-up, any reason not to delete this folder (which is 1.27 TB of a 1.82 TB formatted drive)? I'd like to delete the folder and free up some space on the drive. FWIW, I know this folder is not part of the files/folder I back up from my boot drive.

    Please advise - Thanks.

The new SSD has this file on it already too? Verify it does, then erase it on the old drive and use the space.

I hope you disconnected the old drive during the installation of the new. Sometimes not doing so can screw things up. Like being able to boot the computer without having the old drive installed. You might try turning the computer off, disconnecting the old drive, and then see if you can still boot off the new drive.

If you wish to have a restore point, create one first then reclaim this space.

Something doesn't add up. Your System Restore should be on an entirely different partition. Not on the same drive that one would be restoring in case if of failure.
