Okay this one has me a bit stumped.
About a week ago we had a power outage and my comp was on, not the best way to 'shut off' your computer.
Ever since then at random intervals my computer freezes up, no mouse, no keyboard, no Ctrl+Alt+Del, no video movement. I have to hard reboot it and then it start up again, runs a bit and freezes up again.
I'm running Windows 7 64 on a ASRock MB w/ 16 Gb or RAM and AMD Radeon RX 560 video card
I ran SeaTools on the Seagate HDD, it pass every test twice.
I ran memtest on the memory, again passed every test twice.
I left a motherboard monitor running so I could see the voltage and temp data when it froze, everything was well within specs.
I installed a new power supply unit in case the old one got damaged by the power outage.
I reinstalled motherboard drivers, network drivers, audio drivers and video drivers.
No joy. I have no idea what got messed up.
Here's the rub.
I've been running it all day today doing everything I normally do with the exception of listening to audio in Safe Mode and no freezing at all.
Obviously something is not loading in Safe Mode that is causing freezing in normal mode but I have no idea what it could be.
On the plus side I can stop buying hardware since this is pretty solid evidence of it being a software problem.
Anyone run across anything like this or have any ideas on what to look at next?
