How to setup switch? Linksys SD2008

I have a Linksys SD2008 that I want to use to expand the ports on my router which is a Orbi, it only comes with 4 ports.

I thought it would be easy as plugging the Number 1 port into the Orbi and I was going to plug other stuff into it, but its not working like that.

Any idea how to setup the SD2008 so Port 1 is the Orbi and it expands to the other 7 available ports?

Sometimes takes a min to stabilize. Usually you connect with the highest numbered ports but technically it doesn’t matter these days. Back in the day you had specific uplink ports.

I believe that you have an UNMANAGED switch. That means you plug it ina nd let it run and it does its thing with minimal effort. You can not tell it what to do because it is UNMANAGED. Switches like that are good to plug into routers to expand the connectivity because they are easy if you have a simple network setup. I think they also have auto sensing ports now so you do not need a straight through or crossover cable to plug your switch into your router and uplink it.

Typically though you need to turn them on and let the internals boot up and then they should start working after about 20 seconds give or take a few. Just like Ibanezfoo said.
