What is a good Anti-Virus

So what is a good anti-virus these days.
Don't want to pay through the nose, but want something better than the free junk.

If you have Window 10 (7 & 8) use the Defender that is free. It works.
Ultimately, computer security come down to what you do and where you go.

I use Malware bytes Premium. It has kept the BS away for the last several year. I think it costs about 50 a year for the Premium

I use Symantec/Norton Security Deluxe aka Norton 360. $30/yr or you can occasionally catch it on sale for $25, usually in June or July.

Be careful, people randomly clicking no and yes in 360, if they don't know what to click can stop network traffic that one wants.

Avast Free. And much like you wouldn't go to the seediest parts of town, stay away from the seediest parts of the internet. You'll be fine.

when I used windows I used AVG Free.

I had run both Norton and Mcafee they are almost viruses themselves with as much of the system they use just to run.

i saw a while back that several people that build computers and are the IT for some companies........use and install ESET. i gave it a try, and i am in love with it.

Bitdefender, hands down. Always scores at the top with independent lab tests. I check them every year. I bought my copy on Newegg when they had a sale, $40 for 2 years and covers 5 devices.

AVAST! isn't free junk. It's the highest rated AV you can get. Been using it for years, and have had NO virus issues.

Avast or Avira. I've run free versions of both and have never had a complaint or any problems. Way less of a resource hog than either Mcafee or Norton.
