What you post is your opinion of apple products. Not sure how you could falsify your belief. Your apple comment was posted prior to my posting the flash drive. And yes. Sandisk is doing what most companies do. They get a premium for that product. Some of that cost is to pay apple for the chip that keeps IOS products from rejecting the connection. You will never hear me say that apple is a good company. They aren't. They do make some good products that I like though. Do they cost more then the non samsung android alternatives? Yes. Do I foam at the mouth and attack them at any chance? No. If I couldn't afford them I wouldn't own their products. Are they better then my other non apple tablets? No. They are just different.

Flash drive and Ipad

QFTBest solution is to never buy an Apple product again, as my new G Pad X has a USB port for USB DEVICES SUCH AS A Flash drive right here on the side of it. Aternatively I think the whack-a-doodle cable, in the industry-standard world is called an OTG (on the go) cable...
Yup, just verified it is called an OTG cable for iPhruity devices too, one more thing they copied, well, at least the eBay slang term for the dongle has been duped.
I run all Android devices... almost exclusively Samsung. My wife's mobile devices are all iOS. I can send/ receive files by blue tooth, I can connect thumb drives (and even 2.5" External USB hard drives if battery charge is good) w/ an OTG adapter. I keep movies on thumb drives when traveling. I can stream movies from my PC media hub in the office upstairs over my local network.
My wife has an adapter that will allow you to connect a thumb drive or SD Card... but iOS will only recognize photo file formats. There is a hack you can do by changing the video file names to resemble camera default file names (e.g. _DCS00201.mp4), but it's annoying & you can never remember how you named the movies. She is stuck using iTunes to load/ unload video files. She can download stuff through safari... but only if she has an internet connection. Also, no way to stream from my media hub. For the newer iPads & Phones, you can use this with thumb drives: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/M...camera-adapter , & this one for sd cards: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/M...-camera-reader
For older ones that use the huge 30pin connector, use this: https://www.apple.com/au/shop/produc...connection-kit
Apple has a lot going for them, they have beautiful displays & they are well built products. I just wish they didn't treat their customer like they're too stupid to use the products the way the customer wants to. When modifying is a very large attribute of the tech world... and storage space is always something that people want more of... it is very surprising that Apple doesn't even consider providing an easier way to expand the memory of their devices (micro SD slots).Last edited by furyous68; 04-26-2018, 3:30 PM.95,000,000 people die each day in the U.S. from gun violence

Last week I purchased a sandisk WiFi flash drive. App to connect for all devices. I look at my iPhone photos on my galaxy phone and my iPad by using this flash drive. Works well and no adapters. Reasonable price.
