Wireless Printer Recommendations

Am looking to buy a Wireless Printer to use with my Dell Laptop running Windows 10. Would like to keep cost below $100 as the unit will just be for sporadic use at home, not for business. Brands, Models, Cost of Ink Cartridges?

No ink to dry out due to sporadic use. I also print sporadically, and I've had the same toner for years. If I REALLY need to print color, Kinkos. Cost of keeping ink jets running and full isn't worth it.

Also recommending this for easy toner replacements. All in one toner/drum unit.
I love Brother printers but hate dealing with separate drum and toners.

The cost of an old HP B&W laser is pretty good (<$100 used), but for under $200, you could get a Dell color laser. Color toner for these Dells, even generic carts, is like $65 for the set, last I checked.

I don't print a lot, but I haven't replaced toner in my Dell color laser since I acquired it like 3 years ago, but I am not sure how much the kids print...

Don't get a Ink Jet

Get Laser something and if you print a lot get a 400$ unit, it'll pay off in refill costs in the long run. Also get a Multi-Functional Scanner/Fax if you can.

Laser is the way to go. Toner is cheap compared to ink.

I'm on my second one. They are inexpensive and they work. When it stops working, buy another. For well under $100, it's the best bang for the buck. I buy the uber cheap ink refills, works great. This thing does it all, scan (bed and feeder), fax, copy, print both sides and is wireless. Does air printing from your phone or tablet.

I forgot to say that I wanted something that had Scanning capabilities too. Color printing is not really needed so a Monochrome Laser all-in-one sounds like what I should be considering?

Get a laser. Print on inkjets always look scraggly since as the ink wicks through the fibers of the paper. Any picture/heavy text turns the sheet into a soggy mess.

The inkjets can also clog/get funky if not used regularly, lasers are fine to sit around for extended periods.

Also, if at all possible, DO NOT use a wireless printer (it can have the feature, but don't use it). In my 11 years in IT the TWO things that bug home users the most are problems printing and wireless. Combining the two is just asking for trouble.

Your laptop can be wireless. But make the printer connected with the cable. This way print jobs can 'wake up' the printer. Most wireless printers will go into a power save mode after extended periods and you have to wake it up by interacting with it physically, in the power save state it disables the Wifi entirely. You can probably disable this feature, but then you just drain power for no reason and another device to compete with your other wireless devices.

I would get one with a scan bed, automatic document feeder (ADF), etc. If you ever ONCE need to scan a stack of paper, you'll appreciate the ADF.

So, laser, ADF, scan bed. After that, buy to your budget but be sure to price out consumables to make sure that replacement won't break the bank.

Otherwise, they're all about the same quality these days IMO.
