    Need help.....Windows 10 ?

I used to have Windows 7, and liked it. But thanks too Microsoft I now have Windows 10. It was an automatic down load. Woke up one morning and there it was.

Here's my problem, I used to be able to right click on a pic and down load it too where all my pics are stored. In windows 7 a box would appear with the options, save as, share pic, select all, copy, inspect element and view source.

I would click the save as and pic would then go too where my other pics were stored, I could then cut & paste and move them to a folder, or make a new folder and move it there.

In windows 10 it doesn't work that way any more, it goes some place else. Then I have too try and find it, If I find I have a heck of a time trying too put it with my other pics.

As you can probably tell I don't know that much about computers. LOL.

It would be nice when I receive pics of the great grand kids too be able to put them in the folder they belong in.

When first went from W 7 too W 10, I didn't have this problem. But I think Microsoft must have come along and did an update download and created this problem.

Any help would be appreciated as long as it's not too technical. Thank you.

Restore your computer to a time before windows 10 installed itself then block automatic updates and install a Windows 10 update blocker, such as GWX Control Panel Monitor.

Windows 10 has a new browser called Edge. It is the default browser. You do not have to use it. It also has Internet Explorer still, and you can also install Chrome. Just install Chrome, set it as default browser, and call it a day.

You can still right click and save pics in IE and Chrome. I never used Edge to find out.

          What?

LoL. So you had W7 and then when you let it slip out, W10 came in and you did nothing about it to get your OS back...

You turned yer back on W7... Tsk tsk tsk.

I have Windows 7 and have had it since July 2015. I never woke up and found W10 all bright and shiny jumping around on MY computer. Nor on my Laptop, nor on my wife's, nor on my game system.

I think you might be missing a few details here. Go put windows 7 back on...

This^^^^^ You may be able to do a factory reset to retrieve Win7.

If you can't, and you're past 30 days of having 10, You can do this:

GoTo manufacturers website. Download all the drivers for your model.
GoTo E-bay, buy a copy of Win7. Make sure it's the same flavor originally on your computer. Make SURE it's an original copy with a proper keycode. This will run you between $25-$50. Make SURE it is an unopened, unused copy.

Download DBAN, and make a disk that will boot it.

Backup your pics, and other important data.

Install Win7 with the "Format Hard disk" option, basically, a fresh install.

If that won't work, boot DBAN, kill your hard disk, THEN install Win7.

Use the keycode on the bottom of your computer to install windows. If that won't work, use the keycode that came with your disk.

After Win7 installs, install your drivers, Clean up and Defrag. If you have an SSD, skip the "Defrag" part.

Get yourself an external Hard drive, use Win7 imaging utility to make an image on the external drive, make a Win7 repair disk, and password reset disk.
Do THIS before you install any programs, in case your programs start giving you problems before you make your other images. This will save you a lot of time, in case you run into problems during program setups.

After your computer is set up exactly the way you want it, clean up your disk again, do another defrag. You can use Macrium Reflect, and AOMEI One Key recovery. Make another image on your external drive with Macrium Reflect, make a Macrum Reflect repair disk. Keep both your repair disks in a safe location.

Install AOMEI One Key Recovery, allow it to make an image on your on board hard disk.

            Now you have:

            A windows 7 recovery image.
            A Macrium Reflect recovery image.
A "Factory reset" image by AOMEI (Hit F11 on boot up to restore the image).

            Never have that issue again.

Just use Win 10, it's fine and it has many improvements and security enhancements.

Your complaint is with your web browser, which is one of the things that should absolutely be updated. As someone else suggested, download Chrome from Google and use that.

                I agree with this.

I use the open source SRWare Iron, its built on Chrome without all the google tracking high jinx.

I'm not sure theres much improvement on Win 10 except being able to use a higher amount of RAM memory, 64Gb +
I was never worried about 'Security' , I think thats MS code for tracking your every keystroke- telementry

Save all your pics, video , music & Docs to an external Hard drive & re install Win 7 fresh.
You can get Win 7 down load for free & it will automatically authenticate on your PC as the factory installed OS

I'm using Windows 10 and even if you're viewing the images in Edge, right clicking still presents you with the menu that includes "Save picture as". So, the problem may be the way you have Windows 10 or Edge configured. Or, just download Chrome and use that.
