    IE11 and Why

What is "your" favorite browser and why?

Thinking of loading IE-11, but some reviews say it is still "unstable" and sometimes crashes. Not real happy with FIREFOX. Get a lot of "server not found" errors. Even when just switching from one forum to another here on CG.

Input appreciated by an old semi luddite puter gerbil.

IE11 is fine.. just not as customizable as chrome or FF, its stable overall if you're browsing normal sites, but its popup blocking ability eats

chromium is probably the best browser, but its a memory hog, tons of features and plugins available, plus gmail/google services built in that can sync between multiple computers

firefox.. meh. i migrated off it maybe nearly 8-9 years ago now and havent looked back

I have been using Firefox since early beta, and it too is a mem-hog (might just be flash-containing pages, AKA Facebook?), there were some crappy-buggy releases a few years back (many revs of buggy-releases) and on Android devices you can't even do an eBay search w/out failures. There is also a glitch or two when I hit some intranet sites w/it at work, or when using it to view PDFs on intranet sites there are some whacky fonts via sharepoint requiring me to use IE, but I am a die-hard user of Firefox none-the-less.

I really only use IE when I have to... for Internet browsing Firefox FTW.

Be advised that if you are viewing CGN with FF via "https://" (SSL?), you will not be able to see embedded flash vids, such as youtube with FF, but just another glitch.

I cannot stand waiting for IE to load a page, or just load, entering a different URL, only for IE to finish loading the page I thought was loaded and default the URL I just typed, requiring me to type it again.
Even on an i5-i7 this is a factor, just not AS bad...

There are "SPECIAL" FF version w/out the bloat I understand ("EME"/DRM-free-related?), but I have not doiked with them much:

        How about the

Microsoft Edge Browser they say is designed to replace IE, for use with Windows 10?

Anybody tried it yet? This box had W-7 and the wife upgraded it to 10 for free.

It is now "slug slow". Looking for something faster and more stable.

I've tried 3 times to download "Chrome". It loads for 28 freak'n minutes then just locks up and doesn't finish.

I HATE to say it, but Google Chrome. Mainly because it AINT MS. Also, it has some nice addons like Ghostery and EASY WEB RTC Blocker as well as REVERSE IMAGE SEARCHER plugins.
