I gathered these in response to Stilly , but thought it could make a good topic....
if you are using win7 , you can optimize your system by starting from scratch.
If you dont have an install disk, you can find one....
If you have a Major OEM PC the install will be automatically activated via SLIC
also, Win 7 saves & collects everything you ever did on your PC & sends it back to MS.
Get Process Monitor & take a look at whats happening behind the scenes.....
You will not believe how busy NTAUTHORITY/SYSTEM is.
You are better off saving all your stuff & reloading Win7
I do my own component builds using RT7lite
You can dL here, MajorGeeks is trusted site...
A guide...http://lifehacker.com/5894838/custom...of-your-dreams
If you really want to get serious you can make your own install using
Install.wim
boot.wim
You will also like to have these on hand...it allows you to bypass NTAUTHORITY/SYSTEM & access/DELETE any files you want on your Win7
Any one who thinks being 'Administrator' gives them any power over their PC, is being fooled.
This topic is for PC enthusiast who like to optimise their own system.....
If you have additional info, share it.
ps, I started modding Win 98, then went all in on XP-RyanVM,
then I bought a bunch of newer computers & SATA hard drives at a thrift store & have done over 50 component builds of Windows 7 for practice & fun.
I am in it for $300.
I love messin with tech for a hobbie.
I have also done the DD-WRT modds & a lot of other neat stuff.
Id like to check out the 'Raspberry pie' too, someday
Share your PC tech too....
