As does HDR with upscaling to 4k. I was cynical until I purchased at 75" Samsung UN75MU800D . The difference over HD is remarkable. Imagines almost look 3D.

When I purchased, costco had a 15% cash back offer if using costco VISA and free 3 year extension on their costco protection. So $2979 - $445 cash back plus 5 year total costco protection.

while the pcb does fail on samsung tvs, many times it is actually the firmware that becomes corrupted or out of date with the TV is updated automatically.

not sure if you still have the tv but did you update the tv's firmware? if so, what method did you perform to do so?

i only ask because, i too, thought my hdmi inputs and sound had failed until my brother's father-in-law (who owns a repair company and does repairs for magnolia/best buy, frys, etc) told me to first try and update the firmware manually.

So true. With SMART TV's came a whole new slew of problems with updates and CPU's not fast enough to run newest app updates, etc... another reason my dumb SONY is still working fine. Vizio has lots of firmware compatibility issues too if you run them long enough, but usually something burns out before that.

But I continue to buy Samsung since their colors appeal to me more.
I'm a fan of the Samsung picture as well. But I'm going to say it's all personal preference.

OP go look at them and pick the one with the picture you prefer. If you stay with the well known brands you will be fine.

              75" is huge.

              Look at the OLED.
