    Gaming laptop

Looking for advise on a gaming laptop for my Son he is deployed in Iraq until September, between the 12/14 hour patrols and boredom on down time. He is looking for a inexpensive laptop to replace his wife's that bit the dust. I know Alienware but there pretty pricey any help is appreciated.

I use a Gigabyte. Awesome specs in a 15" package.

Gaming laptops by their very nature are going to be pricey, it's just going to come down to what games do you want to play and what is an acceptable performance level by your standards.

ASUS Republic of gamers are good machines, that's probably going to be my next when the 7 year old Alienware dies.

I keep seeing ads for Omen, but haven't experienced them. The specs look good on paper, but you never know how that will translate in the real world.

+1 for ASUS ROG laptops. I use one for forensic work and I got one for my son for gaming. Great specs at a great price.

Check Ebay. I've bought several computers from there, all were decent. Just make sure it's at least an i5 3rd/4th gen with DEDICATED graphics. Make sure to ask the seller questions.

I've seen a few MSI laptops on there for a fairly reasonable price. MSI runs cooler than Alienware, or Asus ROG computers.

I recommend considering a cheap laptop computer for email and whatnot along with a PS4 for gaming. The PS4 is a lot less hassle than fiddling with new graphics drivers and stuff like that on the computer. You can buy a serviceable laptop and a PS4 for less than a gaming laptop.

You can buy a halfway, decent car for less than a good gaming laptop.

Gaming counsle and a good laptop is better , btw no multiplayer because the internet speed in iraq is 5mbps max.

My younger bro has an MSI gaming laptop that he really loves. I want to say its a GXX model.
