    Skeptical about quality and security

By the way, guys. How are you? I only wanted to ask, what are your reviews about cloud based software? This has been our topic in our office lately and our supervisor is indeed skeptical about being hacked. How about you? what do you implement to stop worrying about safety and quality of your system?

This is a complicated question as it depends on your companies security posture and a number of variables.

If you really are hacked you most likely won't know it until someone external (FBI, vendor, etc) notify's you. This is because bad guys typically use social engineering to finagle valid credentials then escalate privileges and/or erase their tracks.

The large name brand cloud based apps and providers spend more on security than most companies can afford and yet they still get breached so the trick is to assume you will get breached and put systems in place to minimize the damage.

Me and my friends have been using cloud system of a company for our databases and we have not faced any problems. The problem with cloud systems is not the fault with it but our own leakages such as weak passwords or social engineering as was pointed by DeLaSeoulRZN.

Just like with any system or application, conduct your risk assessment based on your established security policies / frameworks.

        Mitigate the risk as applicable.

        Done.

Thanks for the replies. But what about Quality Management System software? Will this be a good solution? I would really want to come up with this idea however, I hesitate because our supervisor himself is not convince that the whole process is what we need. Unfortunately, I do not know whether his reasons is due to the cost that will be involved or simply because, he does not welcome change. Talking about getting out of comfort zone.

Companies can get bought, and the new policy might change to allow the emppoyees to do whatever they want. I keep my own data, and such. I personally do not trust 3rd parties...

Another way of saying, "Someone else's computer". No way.

He is right to be skeptical. Smart man.
