So the other night I came out of a hyperjump with my type 7 filled to the brim with the triple Ps and some G and I had some dick NPC hit on me as soon as I entered the system. HE was like, "Oh hey that is a pretty big haul you got, I am glad I traveled as far as I did to get here" or something stupid and perverted like they always say. So I got on the comm and typed back (yes, I type replies to ALL of those that type to me in the game, but the replies are typically not very nice) "Piss off mate. I am NOT in the mood..."
And I was not in the mood because I had 2 weapons that could be used, no shields, had just spent 2+ hours mining and was in a slow moving bulky ship.
I figured, okay, I needed to be on my way. So I turned my ship away from the sun and started watching the little blips on the radar to see which dick was going to get behind me and ID me. I saw one blip fly across the radar and disappear and I did not hear from that NPC anymore... I was already high-tailing it out and back to the station that was about 870 some LS away.
Well, I was watching a youtube video and I saw how an Interdiction works. If you let them get behind you, they can ID you. But they MUST be behind you.
SO last night I was in my ASPE and I was exploring and I had a HUGE lot of exploration data on my ship. But because I had recently killed 87 skimmers, I also had a 9100 bounty on my head.
And so it started again, I jumped into a sector blindly and some dickhead NPC hits me up and is talking about how I am his tasty mealticket or something.
So I told him, Piss OFF MATE, OR I WILL GIVE YOU A BLOODY NOSE...
Then I see a blip moving across the radar screen and I got an idea. I accelerated towards the sun I was scanning, my fuel scoop popped out and it was about half way to max speed so I quickly flipped a 180 and put the sun to my back. about 10 seconds later I saw a blip fly right past me on my radar and it disappeared.
Now I know what happened. They gotta get behind you to ID you. SO either they hit the sun and died or they hit the safety perimeter and dropped out of super-cruise and thus off my screen...
Another thing I did (did it three times the other night) was as soon as some dick NPS starts talking smack and I am not in my vulture or viper or cobra, I will slow down and when I see a maneuver to get behind me, I drop out of super-cruise right there. Then I will let the FSD cool off and go and fire it back up so that I can keep moving towards my destination. That seems to work too. But I like the idea of making them poof into the sun...
Happy Dangerousing...
