Is there such a thing as a DECENT wireless mouse for <$10

I thought it would be nice to have a wireless mouse and after I bought a VERBATIM wireless mouse from Microcenter that kept disconnecting and reconnecting on me I decided to go looking on fleabay. I DID find several $4.99 wireless mice and the first one arrived smashed a tad on the front, so I got a refund and then got another mouse for the same price that SEEMED to be a decent mouse, but no instructions (no biggie) and then about 2 months after having it the batteries died, no biggie right? I put in new batteries, then about another 1-2 months later I am hearing the mouse wheel squeak and I roll it and it has nw started to feel smoother with less bumps in it. So now if I use the mouse on a webpage or scroll or look at photos, they will move on their own or change since the wheel is NOT staying put and making the sensor see it move slightly.

So now this mouse sucks, It RALLY pissed me off when I was trying to watch a video and it kept advancing time by 39 seconds because the wheel would not settle...

So should I just give in and look for a Logitech or MS and pay $20 or is there a decent brand of mouse that is better for around $10.00 ?

I just bought 2 dell bluetooth wireless 5 buttons, used for 5.99 each today. I have used these mice for gaming for years and never had issues.

There is really no such thing as a "decent" wireless mouse. Throwing money at the problem will get you a "better" wireless mouse, but the best thing is a WIRED mouse. 100% reliable. 99% of the applications using wireless peripherals do not need them, at the penalty of wonky operation.

I'm an IT guy. Someone has problems with their wireless stuff, I plug a wired mouse in. There, fixed.

So then I need to look in the wireless section from the store is what I am seeing from everyone.

There will be NO purchasing anything from amazon since the minimum free shipping order is now what? $50? I am too cheap to spring for shipping and make the mouse a few dollars more. However.

How long have you had that Teknet mouse Spanky? Years? How has it held up so far?

Target is a nogo. I am done shopping there until they decide to produce and air commercials in English.

I did not see any Logitech wireless in the section. Okay. I see my options now. Thanks for the input folks.

I always use logitech and never have a problem. A single AA batt lasts for years too and I never turn it off. It's like the aimpoint of wireless mice.

All of the logitechs I have found were priced around $25 or more when I was looking. Do you guys have specific model numbers? I will look again because in my book, Logitech has been gold.

Also, Zorba. Thank you for your input as well. I did not mean to leave you out up there. And please keep in mind, it is ONLY a mouse. Just a wireless mouse...

And for the record, I DO have a Darkfield wireless mouse from logitech and I love it, but I keep it with the laptop. I actually have a Logitech G5 complete with weights that I use on my gaming machine when I KVM it, but I did NOT want to wear it out any by using it for every day things. I just got done scrolling through 100k+ photos to be deleted/filtered out (snapchats) and I am thinking that might have contributed to my previous mouse wearing out + the previous mouse was only $5.00 so it was probably made of cheap soft components.

I have a Logitech M505 I've been using for several years. I have to take attendance on my computer every hour. Not very high usage, but constant usage. I have several laptops and several wireless mice, but I'm pretty sure I got this one at Staples on sale for $15.

I like the M505 because it has some heft to it and a physical scrolling wheel. I've dropped it more than once and the battery cover hinges on a piece of scotch tape because one of the tabs broke off. I leave it on just about all the time but can't remember the last time the batteries died (2 X AA Eneloops).

I had another Logitech mouse with a sensor for scrolling, but one of my kids took it. I didn't like it that much because it didn't have any heft to it. Felt like a toy.

They keyboard and mouse are literally the only parts of the computer you directly interface with, I never understand people going lowest-common-denominator on them. Spend a little more and get a good reliable one that will last you and fit your hand well.

Yes. That is why I have a G5 for my gaming mouse. But any three button with a wheel mouse will fit the bill for the master system. If I could get my old AT keyboard I would but the last time I checked, the cord did not match any adapter.

I am also not at a place where I need professional grade anything. Yes, it is nice to have nice things but if it WORKS right now it will do. A heavier mouse is a nicer mouse in my book.

I use the Logitech m525 with my laptop and like it quite a bit although it is kind of small. I think the m525 might be the successor to the m505. Battery life is around 2 years or so, the scroll wheel is precise, but other than that it is just a three button mouse. In Gnome battery life of the mouse is reported which is a nice feature. These are currently on sale at Best Buy for $19.99.

Forgot to mention the center scroll wheel button also has a switch that tilts side to side. I use it as the backward and forward buttons in my browser.
