So it still requires a hard-line cable between the two?

That doesn't really solve my problem.....if I hafta run a cable I might well just run another coax and move the receiver over to the TV.

You can try something like this if you're had set on wireless.

Another option, is the Monoprice stuff. http://www.monoprice.com/search/inde...ireless%20hdmi

They now have two -- one has a 50 meter range and the other has a 200 meter range.

I have used an older version that they no longer sell (from 2013) and it worked ok. It worked as line of sight and billed as a 65.6 foot extender. When it bought it in 2013, it was $132.

"The Ford Pinto was an advertised commercial product"

I drove a Ford Pinto. It had a 1.6L engine that was also used in Formula Ford or some similar racing series. I was even hit in the back by a semi & survived. No fireball. Fixed & kept on running. Not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

HDMI 1.4 is 14Gb/s. I'd be pretty surprised if any wireless technology can handle 14Gb/s or even 1Gb/s
