    AT&T vs. Verizon Network?

We've had Verizon phones for years, and the service & network coverage is very good, but I'm thinking of ways to cut my monthly bills.

Between phones, TV, and the Interwebz we're spending waaaayy too much money every month.

I'm wondering if we bundled our phones with AT&T if they would offer a deal to have all our business. Currently have U-verse and AT&T internet service.

I don't want to be dropping calls all the time though.

    How's the network compare?

The network seems to cut out more than verizon would but it is cheaper. I know this isn't the OP but I have friends with T-Mobile cell phones that never cut out and have great, cheap plans. If it was possible to combine T-Mobile phone service and another internet provider, you may have yourself a decently priced set up because lets face it... Verizon isn't the cheapest by any means

Think about using a cable service for your ISP and sign up for Google Voice. You might save more then expected.

At&t data creeps like everybody else. I'm don't know about everybody other than t-mobile's LTE, but when 3g was the bee's knees, Verizon, sprint, and virgin would all creep for no apparent reason, but an airplane mode, then airplane mode off usually fixed it. I understand they offer wifi calling now (like T-Mobile has, for years) which is probably a good thing. Google Voice is nice, but my lady's Nexus won't use voice for any calls that aren't international.

I don't know about cellular coverage, but I'm never giving up FIOS for my internet. Ever.

Thinking about FIOS myself. What does that cost per month?

My work phone is Verizon and had unlimited voice, text, & data. My personal phone is AT&T. I use both a lot and have traveled around the western US and I really don't see any difference in service and coverage. There have been times and places where AT&T worked well and Verizon didn't and vise-versa, and/or neither worked. I just don't notice a difference. I've been with AT&T for ever and just have never changed.

I am planning on switching my phone from AT&T to verizon, primarily because some of the places I spend time and need to take calls and check e-mail have virtually no AT&T coverage but great Verizon coverage. Even a significant improvement inside my house, in San Jose. Price seems to be equivalent.

VZW has the edge but not by too much these days.

We have both and often times one will have service and the other wont...but it still tends to be my wife's ATT phone losing it first.

I'm still on unlimited data from vzw...never giving that up.

                    This brings up an interesting possible alternative;

Is FIOS also a TV provider now?

Maybe go all Verizon rather than all AT&T.

i get 18% off ATT and 21% off Verizon.

Check for employer discounts or seach online where to find group codes

Thinking of dumping internet service and switching to comcast FIOS $60 for 200mbbs.

Att cell phone is stable as a rock. Verizon is super spotty where i am at. When my satellite phone failed me i was left walking around with a sat phone in one hand and a att phone in the other and i got one bar and enough to call out. Stupid sat phone left me stranded. I still am baffled to this day how that happened.

As of 4/1 Verizon FIOS is Frontier in CA. Along with FL and TX. I never lost TV, phone or Internet. I have lost Caller ID on the TV and call logging. The simultaneous ring feature still works so NoMoRobo still grabs telemarketer calls. I am sure the other calling features will return soon.

I have Ultimate TV package, all the regular pay channels, 75/75 Internet and landline. Just before switch I had upgraded to 2 new DVR. I can record 12 shows simultaneously and store over 400 hrs of HD programming. I think my new bill will be around $275 a month.

It may sound like a lot but the internet speed and dependability, the TV programming available and the call blocking service is worth it.

In the 5+ years I have had the service I never lost content due to a pissing match between Verizon and the provider. With DISH I did twice.

Verizon FIOS does provide all in one bundles (i.e., tv, phone and internet). Cost will depend on packages and probably what area you're in. Currently, I'm on Verizon's Ultimate bundle which carried over to Frontier and includes, digital voice, 50/50 mbps internet, and their Ultimate TV package which has 445 channels including Cinemax and HBO. With a single DVR and another set top box, I'm paying $169/mo. including all fees and taxes.

Service wise, I've never had a single problem with FIOS. No down time other than the DVR going wonky once and which they replaced immediately. Can't say the same for TWC which I had before I switched. I've also been pretty satisfied with my cellular service. Never any issues. While Verizon isn't the cheapest, I've certainly never had any problems with their service either.

                            Tracfone

AT&T charges way to much for way to little.

I switched to Tracfone even keeping my AT&T phone and number.

The service and coverage equals AT&T for my use which is small.

The cost for Tracfone minutes and air time is one third the cost of AT&T.

Check their website for deals on airtime and minutes. I switched three months ago.

The wife has had a Tracfone for about two years.

OP and anyone else, I can look up coverage in your area for Sprint service and recommend you for discounted service.
