Need advice on camera choice

To upload pics of my stuff that I sell on the net, I have an Olympus point-and-shoot camera that uses Olympus viewer3 software and a usb cord to connect to my laptop. I find the software very annoying and impossible to use without calling the Olympus help line.

Does anyone know of a reasonably-priced point-and-shoot camera that has easy (one-step or automatic) upload capability? Possibly with wifi connectibility?

The most recent Canon Powershots (e.g. G7 X and G7 X Mark II) support wifi connectivity to phones (ad-hoc) or to computers (over WPA).

You'll definitely want to download a PDF manual of the camera you're interested to make sure it supports 802.11 wifi networks.

I still use card readers because they're faster to transfer files, but I shoot RAW and video, so I need the transfer speeds.

Instead of spending the money on a camera, I would just get a smart phone with a decent camera. If you already have one, why not use that?

does your computer recognize your camera when you plug in the usb cable? If so, access your files and just transfer them over that way. Thats how I do it with my Canon DSLRs

I have this in an older camera that does not have built in WiFi, works well. You can transfer pics from your camera to your iPad or home computer. You will need to download an App for your iPad or their software for your computer.

I have a couple Sony cameras that have WiFi built into the camera, file transfer is quick and easy.

Wait WHAT?

I had a Sony Mavica FD-73 and FD-95.

I had a Pentax K1
Nikon D80
Minolta Dimage ZX-10 (turned it in to the city back in 2012)
Minolta Dimage ZX-20 (still have this one and shoot everything even my avatar with it)
Panazonic Lumix FZ-30 (use for night macro photography)
Casio Exilim (use it for high speed gun play)

ALL of them (cept for the sonys) have removable cards.

I find it hard to believe that an olympus would not have a removable card.

I do not understand why you just do not take the card out, put it in a reader and copy/cut the photos off of that instead?

Running all of this other software is a GREAT way to **** your computer up. It you have no handle on your software then it will put copies of who knows what all over the place.

The ONLY software you should need is Fastone (free and fast image viewer/converter) and ms-paint (windows 7 or newer for best cropping/resizing before going to more robust software)

Maybe you are just looking for an excuse to buy a new camera.

That is fine too, its your money but I hate spending money and I really hate loading up all of the software that comes and wants you to install it so that it can run 24/7 whether or not it is needed, hog up resources and do who knows what all else (create conflict, have memory leaks etc.) At least Fastone does not do that. Install it, double click on an image and it opens up without already having to be running. (kinda like how winblows was supposed to work in the first place)

Thank you very much, you good folks, for your suggestions and comments. I have been scurrying around the internet checking out all the recommended cameras. I have fixed the problem with Olympus Viewer3 so that I can get by for the moment. I have a couple of SLR's and a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 that was my dad's. I hope to sell them or trade them for cash and possibly get a DSLR. For now though, I'll stick with the Olympus. Thanks again everyone.
