    mp3 players

since high school i have had a ipod nano gen 5 as my primary mp3 player. it worked great and had enough room for music. now it is starting to have problems with the audio jack and i wish to replace it. i liked the ipod classic and always wished to get one, but i just saw that they are out of production and new and used ones are outrageously priced. so what is the new good mp3 player? i dont like touch screens which is why i wont be going with an apple device. i do like having a display to see the lists the folders and the feel of having a button. what would you guys recommend?

    Try using your cell phone.

What you also didn't add is - how much are you willing to spend?

If I had to pick a non touch screen mp3, FiiO would probably be one of my top choices.

FiiO has plenty of MP3 players in that price range with a Ipod Classic style.

One of the cheaper ones and can hold up to 128gb microSD:

Closest one to an Ipod Classic.

                    X1 and Ipod Classic comparison

Also depending on what headphones you're pairing these with, it'll make a big difference.

Since you'll be using it often, I'd say, just spend a couple more bucks and get the X3.

Here's a detailed review with comparisons of other FiiO players:

Ever thought about getting mid-high end audio headphones? $60-$120 range.

come on these head phones are awesome they get good sound quality and i can use them for shooting.

but honestly i've never been an audiophile when i get more money i'll start a new thread or bump this one for headphone suggestions.

I'm not hating , it's definitely worth the investment. You'll see lots of deals pop up throughout the year. It's best to buy them then.

Sennheiser and Audio-technica the two fairly inexpensive best bang for the buck headphones.

                              I personally own a Sennheiser HD 598.
