Anyone have issues plugging in more than 1 USB3 devices into certain mobos?

I swear I can not have my 1.5 TB and 1 TB external drives plugged in at the same time. Winblows 7 acts all funny like. Constant connecting and disconnecting.

My standard USB 3 drive that is large and has its own PSU is plugged into a cable that plugs into the back of the motherboard.

Then I have a USB 2 hub that has its own PSU also and it is plugged into the back of the mobo.

I gotta unplug the large 1.5TB drive before I can plug in the 1 TB drive to the hub or it takes forever to connect, then it gets disconnected as soon as that happens and then the cycle repeats itself with winblows wanting to scan and view the drive...

Just curious if anyone else has this issue. I only plug in the smaller drive to move things onto it so I can go plug that into the WD Live hub and watch them on the TV...

I have a 5.0 Tb USB 3.0 drive that I've been using on an Acer laptop running Win 8.1. When I add another 1.0 Tb drive on the USB 3.0 hub, I notice that my keyboard (on USB 2.0) cuts out from excessive interrupts. I try to limit this configuration a bit or expect to have typing interruptions if I don't.

I'm guessing that your problem is similar..

It's because USB 3.0 is so fast that it takes all of the bus traffic for itself and leaves little for the rest of the devices. Think of it as a double wide hummer limousine on a freeway blocking everyone else.

So then even though it is backwards compatible, I should consider getting another usb 3.0 controller card (If I do not have a usb 3.0 installed now) if I want to run multiple 3.0 devices?

Okay. Fine by me. I was just curious if I was the only guy having this issue. Maybe my stuff is usb 3.0 and I did not look before I plugged it in... This case has to go. After Christmas the new ostrog will hopefully fix this.

Yea that should do it. It's pretty annoying, I have a high end gaming computer (for 2014) and it sucks up all data when I'm transferring data via USB 3.0
