Copy paste question? Keep getting not what I copied.

I'll keep it short and simple. I needed to copy an email address out of my outlook. When I did and went to paste it came up as this calgunsta01ecos. No matter what email I go to copy it keeps pasting this. Just curious if anyone knows why or what it is. Thanks.

maybe try restarting our computer.
Also try clearing out cookies in your browser.

I am guessing you are using something newer than Win XP? (Then again if RDPing in XP other weird issues happen with file copy-paste actions from time to time, and that never got fixed either...)

You need a reboot, I assume it's a memory-leak, or programmed-in-India-glitch of Vista, 7, or 8, like the right-click function... reboot.

If rebooting didn't work, it may be the annoying way that Outlook only makes the "Display Name" easily accessible. To view - and copy - the underlying email address go to Message Options and look in the Internet Headers section.

You need to know how to use OUTLOOK. You should go to your address book and highlight the actual e-mail from the properties or contacts and copy it- OR, you can look at an old e-mail from this person and view the headers and copy the actual address from there.

Outlook wraps things up all nice and cute so this happens when you just copy from the address line...
